It's me uprah. My quit day was April 1st but I have smoked so much this morning that I am physically sick. I want to quit today!!!!! I have a dental cleaning appointment in two hours and I would like to come out of that appointment with a clean mouth and as a non-smoker. I may not be as ready as I thought but I do not want to feel like this ANYMORE! I want to be healthy and wake up feeling good everyday. I HATE what this addiction has done to my mind, body and soul and it is not going to steal anymore of my life. I really think God led me to this site and all of you. I was on the web looking for a prayer to quit smoking and I accidently hit this page. I was meant to find you. Your stories have given me hope and I really think I can quit this time. I would like to hear from anyone who is quitting today. It would be nice to have a buddy for the first day of my quest. I know I am not alone on this journey as I read all of your letters. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!!

Hi uprah - What a great idea! I began my Quit when I was sick - had a really bad cold/flu thing, and decided, hey I'm down, really feeling icky, and I am Quitting now, and so it goes... And I am on day 25, so it works, I just made up my mind (and I protect my Quit with my life!) So you can do this. Just make up your mind, dear one, period. Do the journey on the left of the screen, and just DON'T SMOKE. We are all here for you, and you can do this. Uprah, I think that it is fairly normal to 'stock up' with nicotine when we know we are going without for a oeriod of time. I did the same on my last day as an addict, I also used to do it before a long journey or a long business meeting. Hi Uprah, i remember smoking a lot more than usual before my quit date, i think it may be a panic thing. It sounds that you are motivated and ready to quit, have you done plenty of preparation and planning. I am on day 31 today, i never dreamed i would make it this far. I put my success down to preparation and this place has been a life saver, even if you dont want to talk you can get pleny of inspiration from here. Good Luck for the 1st My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/28/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 30 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 916 Amount Saved: 72 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 3 Mins: 23 Seconds: 58
