Hello all, and WELL DONE for keeping it up! Its day 3 for me, and thank GOD the hunger has subsided...i may have been tempted to eat my small child otherwise!!!!!!! That being said, it has been replaced with mouth ulcers & a cough...not sure which I disliked most! Today's been hard as I went OUT - shopping in town with a friend of mine, (who smokes) and had lunch. It was tough, and I REALLY wanted to just have a DRAG, but almost as soon as I thought about it, I reminded myself that it wouldnt BE just a drag.....and i'm b*ggered if I've gone thru the last 2 days for nothing! I also decided to treat myself to a massage for every month that I both remain smoke-free AND don't put on weight. Just an idea for motivation - have not had a massage for about 3 years! Right, thankyou all for listening, supporting, and generally being my rock. =) Crystal xxxxx My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/2/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 58 Amount Saved: 6 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 12 Seconds: 56

Hey Parola, I just made it through 7 days. It would be great to have folks close to my quit date to exchange thoughts and ideas with. Those who have a long quit record have a lot of great advice as well, so it's agreat place to come together and hear from everyone. You sound as if things are going well, I am strong enough to have coffee and not smoke as it's not my worst "trigger" - but when I have to drive anywhere lookout! I am thinking about getting a treadmill. At work I walk flights of stairs now instead of taking a smoke break. What other things have you done alternative to smoking that are good? Hi Ron, I am happy to see you here today again. For me today was much better, although I have not done a lot. (Neglecting my duties, am I.) Is it not getting any better for you? Or well, and you just forget about the first days? I suppose the addiction shows many faces for us, tries every avenue, before he finally leaves us alone. ps. I am a stap further, but still not able to use IM, although it would be nice write personally as well. Martha, thanks for your attention, it came really a lot of emotional thing to the surface - now it is a bit stiller, but probably I just do not have more tears presently. Fortunately I did not had any stress the last days. I smoked more than 20 years, and I suppose I have to get to know myself again - or maybe the first time really:) I am curious , and also a bit afraid. Parola. Hi, People 1, 2, 3 days free of nicotine, Just do not smoke, that is all, and accept when you feel humiliated by your addiction. Do not get rid of the humiliation by smoking - it goes in a few days, you really do not have to do anything, just wait - and drink a lot water, or herbal thee. Determined, I also use 2-3 gums a day - it helps during the usual bad moments- for me mainly after eating. Hi Smiling, Accept whatever comes to you in these first days - anger and other painful things - let it be, and wait, wait. Do nothing else. Do not try to be brave - tomorrow will be an other experience:) Not nice, but interesting:) Take care, Parola My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/28/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 152 Amount Saved: $45.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 18 Seconds: 50

Hey, People who are in the hell-week please come here together - that we can follow and share everyones path. I am middle in the first week - and not smoking occupying my mind - but also my activities. today, is sunday morning I was lying almost an extra hour in bed, because I could not figure out what to do when I get up - instead of coffee and cg. Finally I got the idea of fresh orange juice. That becomes now also my daily reward - because till now I could not find anything which could be nicer than a cg:) Poor phantasy, see you:) Anyway - probably it could be an extra strength for us to be here together, thus newbies, people in the first week, welcome. today was almost only surviving the day. a lot's of crying again... I am very emotional ... my body and soul feels very vulnerable. One part of mine realizes, smoking - smoke- was a quite of false protection- of what? that is not very clear yet. you see, I am also quite confused. methods? I drink a lot of herbal thee, water. and i go to the toilet. that was my day today. crying, drinking, going to the loo. :) Are coming better days?
