Reasons to Quit

I know there are soooo many good reasons to quit smoking. And sharing these reasons can, I think, be a constant motivator and reminder of why we come to this forum. I posted these once but it was at the bottom of a discussion thread that was abandoned shortly thereafter. But, for what they are worth, here are my top 10 reasons to quit smoking: 1. Enjoy middle and old age with my wife (in my 50s now) 2. Not get sick or become pathetic wreck or be a burden to my family due to smoking 3. Watch my children continue to grow and be around to enjoy my grandkids 4. Not isolate myself or feel like a sneak (I live in CA so this is a big problem for smokers) 5. Not smell like cigarettes 6. Improve my sense of smell and taste 7. Prove to myself that I can do it 8. Avoid having to feel like the biggest idiot on earth if I get lung cancer 9. Save the money 10.Improve my lung capacity So there you have it. Ten pretty good reasons. Let's see what more the group can add. - DTQ My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 137 Amount Saved: $26 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 13 Mins: 2 Seconds: 30
