Making it through!

I've noticed myself being very tired too. I attribute it to the mental blahs more than anything. I get so spacey that I lose all my energy. But as soon as I get something to do, it's like the energy comes back. It sounds like you're doing all the right things. I can ony suggest toughing it out, seeing where it goes from here. Yes, julie, i really relate to that! I am a single mom with two teenagers at home. Nothing gets done around here if I don't do it. So last week, because it was my first week of not smoking, I took off a couple of evenings. I let them fend for themselves for dinner and everything. i don't think they ate very healthy but judging by the mess they left in the kitchen, they did eat. The dog pooped on the floor because of course no one walked her and no one cleaned it up either. I guess I don't mind if they can just walk by smelling it. I just went to bed. So anyways, I know what you mean about loving to get away. The thing is , there is never a perfect time and besides, smoking wouldn't make any of this any easier. Blood sugar levels are adjusting themselves out ... normal to feel tired during these first 3 weeks ... a lot of people feel that way. Drink some juice, eat fruit, drink water ... and by all means rest. What you are feeling is part of the process. Julie, Your body is just adjusting itself to the surplus of oxygen, it is also trying to heal itself from the damaging effects of smoking. Think of it, everytime your body tried to repair itself, it couldn't because you would just light up another cigarette. Now, you're body has realized that the presence of smoke is gone and it has gone into overdrive. Your body repairs itself the most while your sleeping so don't be too hard on yourself about staying active. This should pass soon. If you don't notice an improvement in the next few weeks, see your doctor. Danielle _____________________________________ The SSC Support Team

Thank you for all your suggestions! Today or shall I say this afternoon has been difficult and I cant eat any more cany or chew on nothing else my teeth and jaw hurts! I am the woman of the house that keeps everything and everybody going to when I try to step back on reserve nothing gets done and everyone gets moody and this is what is really making this whole things worse. If I am energetic I get the whole family involved in an activity that makes everyone smile, but getting to that point is always up to me and it is draining so when I am feeling drawn out because of the detox thing my world is like a whirlwind. My family has too many expectations on my and they dont understand what I am going through even though I voice my feelings they just shruge it off telling me you can do it then ask me whats for dinner etc. When really I feel like packing my suitcase and going to a quit place alone for about a month (that will never happen). Thanks for listen I really needed to vent. Hello everyone. I thought I would mover over from the introducing myself section. I also noticed there was another person named julie somewhere on this site. Well Ive made it through the morning. I am sososo tired today almost if someone gave me some sleeping meds, I hate feeling this tired. Does anyone know if this is because of the bode releasing the toxins or my metabolism slowing down. Ive been very active and have been eating the right things and drinking the heck out of water and watching how much sugerfree stuff I gulp down. Any suggestions? You guys are great, thanks so much for all your thoughts and encouragement! Mama- Remarkable statement on how pathetically disconnected our teenagers are.....and if that didn't just mark me as an old fart, nothing will...but really, the invisible poop was quite a picture! Drink lots and lots of water. If you can cut back on caffine other liquid stimulants. I loved chocolate and it was amazingly fattening. Think, imagine that you are flushing the toxins out of your system. Take as much time, rest as you need. You are dropping both a chemical addiction as well as a whole mental process of feeding the addiction. Be very gentle with yourself and make sure to give yourself lots of rewards.
