I really need some help

I had a quit date for 7/21/06 however I became very ill one night after lighting a cigarette and haven't smoked another one in over a week and a half ... Here is my question since not smoking I have become stiff as if I had a flu ... I'm achy, tired bloated and in general I feel aweful. Is this normal has anyone been thru this. I have no desire to pick up a cigarette at this point but please any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Rest assured, I do believe your symptoms are a completely normal reaction to the quitting process. I was very achy within my first week. My chest ached for about a week and a half. I felt as if I had the flu as well. I understand completely what you are going through right now. Maybe you are getting a touch of the flu?? Just take it easy. Be kind to yourself. Flush you system out with lots of water. And I mean lots...... I munched on cold blueberries in the beginning, and had a glass of cranberry juice every morning. It really helped me feel better. Take care of yourself. This will pass. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 68 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,041 Amount Saved: $222.36 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 11 Mins: 24 Seconds: 47

I didn't have this particular result. (I just sobbed and felt exhausted), but I remember reading about others who felt the way you do. I am sure you will soon hear from them. Of course if it persists, you should be checked out, but I suspect that it is just another of the many ways our bodies respond to the flush of toxins from its system. Be sure to drink copious glasses of water to speed this process along. And remember to be kind to yourself and have plenty of rewards planned. This quitting business, while eventually a wonder, is tuff business - tuff on your emotions and on your body. Take special care. Incidentally, congratulations!!! Both for your decision and for your ten nicotine free days!
