Hard time... but doing it ....

Hi Babs - Looks like no one has been around today - must be outside enjoying the clean air! I have been thinking about you today. It sounds like you are having such a bad time but I am so proud of you for not smoking. Obviously your husband must be proud of you as well because he doesn't want you to smoke! You did the right thing by going to bed - sometimes we all need some time alone to put things in perspective and You also did the right thing by coming here and venting. That's what we're all about. When we quit the nicotine has such a strong hold on our systems that we forget things, get kinda spacey, and feel outside of our minds. This will get better, I promise. Please know that! Maybe you can get some Lozenges as well as the laser therapy...get some straws and cut them in half and breathe in and out of them for a while. Another thing that helped me was Twisters - that cherry licorice stuff. I just held those things and carried them around between my fingers. I may have looked weird but it helped the hand/finger thing. Use all the aids that you can. You are breathing better, your feet are so much better if they are warm and pink! That is huge in itself! You are doing so great. All we can do is take it one breath at a time. Surround yourself with things to keep your hand busy. Immerse yourself in a good book. Keep close to here. Let your husband know that you love him and want him to understand that sometimes you're not going to be so nice in the next couple of weeks - but that too will get better! I Promise!! Getting out in nature will be a nice change of scenery and all that fresh air will be wonderful for your system. Take care!!! Hi Babs - You're almost through HELL WEEK! You can do this! Go for your other laser treatment - but do reward yourself. That is so important in a quit when you are reaching milestones. Heck one day is a milestone in the life of a new smoke free person. You need to destress Girl! You know that cause of that pain in your back and it's not going to be any better until you destress! Take 5-10 minutes every hour to be still, close your eyes, lay down if you can...breathe in and hold it for 10 seconds then breathe out. Do this a couple of times and then imagine in your mind that you feel your toes relaxing - start there and work your way up your body. Go to your ankles, then shins, then knees...work on every body part. Letting go, relaxing, breathe in and breathe out. You need to get the "tense" out. I am feeling that tightness all the way down here in South Georgia! Your 5 days are HUGE! You are doing such a great job. I know that you are getting stronger but that nicdemon is sitting on your lower back. GET HIM OFF OF THERE! Know that we are here for you! Babs - Been wondering how you were doing on your camping trip - so much for the great fresh outdoors, huh?? Shevie is right. Those yucky smokers are looking up to you. They may not show it but as you get stronger and stronger they want to be like you. But at first they are jealous. They want you to fail because they have tried and failed, I'm sure, many times. They put their nasty second hand smoke in your face and - of all the nerve - of that lady saying you could come by her site anytime and get a cig - How could she do that to you - YOU ARE A NON-SMOKER! Why would you want to come to her stinky campsite and get a cig?? YOU ARE A NON-SMOKER! You are doing fabulous! Staying in a reading and relaxing may be just what the doc ordered for you. Your feet are doing so much better! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!! Check in as often as you can. Just know that you can be a great example of a NON-SMOKER to those poor, poor unhealthy people who are going to die a pre-mature death because they are still smoking like a smokestack. Do you catch my drift????? YOU ARE AWESOME!! Hi Babs, I have had you on my heart for several days, I haven't posted in 4 days so tonight I just had to check on you. Did you go for the laser treatment today...? I hope it is working this time.. Babs, I smoked for over 50 years and I know what you are going through. I was fortunate enough to be able to use the patch which really worked well for me. I wish that you could find some peace of mind. Please, be gentle with yourself this is a tuff addiction and we have to fight for our freedom..Believe me it is worth it.. Blessings sent your way, SUNSHINE Please, let us know how you are doing!!!! Hello all, I never thought i would write in. but, just wanted to say KEEP IT UP Babs!! I have never looked at my stuff on here but have always read the emails. I just saw that i have not smoked 1800 cigarettes. I never thought i would be able to quit. But I did!!! Just keep on. If you can wait out the 5-10 minutes, the urge does pass. I will check back. The stuff in here has some amazing things to say. Keep up the great work babs.
