You did great by not giving in to smoking in the cab, do you know how far you've come already? FAR!!! 3 DAYS YOU HAVE!!! THAT IS TOTALLY AWESOME!!! You have alot of support in here!!!! Please stay close to the SSC, you are doing so very well and everyone is so proud of you!!! Don't be embarrassed to call your Dr. If you need your meds what are you going to do otherwise?? It is no big deal babs, losing meds happens. Just call you doctor and maybe explain what is going on with you. I can understand how you must feel but please take care of yourself, that is why we are here and the doctors are here to SUPPORT you in what you need. Please let us know how you are doing ok...and PLEASE post as much as possible, there are really amazing people here always extending their hand to you...and I extend my hand to yours and do not let go. Hi Babs from one of your fellow laser therapy quitters. Shevie is right when he said "distraction is your best friend". Personally speaking, I think that the laser therapy lessened the "junkie talk". I kept extremely busy and drank so much water I thought I would just explode and drowne from it! Having laser therapy made me think about the folks who quit cold turkey and had to deal with the physical and mental issues at the same time. That most likely would have been a huge problem for me. So I consider myself fortunate. You need to WANT the quit more than you want the smokes, bottom line. Glad to hear you are identifying the good things going on with you, the bad things will leave soon. Keep your positive thoughts handy for the tough times, which for you right now is most likely once a hour. Breathe in, breathe out. It will get better. You're doing great! BABS - WAY TO HANG IN THERE & show yourself that you're in charge of this quit. I have put myself in some bad smoking situations thinking I would be okay and it's best just to stay away from what does not work for you . Don't worry about what other people think. Stick with that --YOU and your QUIT matter most. Because at the end of the day you are with yourself, and it's good to be a winner! Congratulations on your almost 2 weeks! How are you doing today today? I just now read this thread. Don't know how I missed it. I am so sorry that you feel so horrible.. The withdrawl part really does take a toll on us. On my 2nd day, I swore that nicotine withdrawl was worse than the habit part. That isn't entirely true though. It was the worst part for me, as far as pain. Physical pain. But the habit is now all mental pain. And now, for me, that is worse. I could take pills for the physical pain, but not for the mental. The only thing to do is think positively. Reward yourself often. It really does get better. I promise. Think of all you are doing for yourself. Now is the time to be selfish. You have now given yourself time. Time to make it up to everyone. But for right now, take care of yourself. Check in with us, please. Hi babs - Hang tight and stay close like Shevie says... There is so much info here that helped me, and I cried and found myself full of frustration and so much anger the first couple of weeks (well, actually still have some of that:) Take it easy, and just stay in the moment... That junkie thinking will fill your head w/all kinds of thoughts about well - only one won't hurt, and it goes on and on. It helped me to become really aware of when I was talking in my head and when the ol' junkie was filling my head with his crap... You are doing great- just hang strong and reach for us when you need us. Get into your favorite pj's and hold on to yourself tight... Hi Babs - I would venture to say that most of us felt like this at the beginning of our quit and I have to confess that sometimes I still feel a little offkilter. Having said that I want to tell you how proud I am of you and the great attitude that came through your post even though you don't feel very well. Your fresh breath, your clean smelling home and your pets ability to live longer is certainly a wonderful incentive to stay QUIT! I can tell that you are so determined to continue on this wonderful way of life. You certainly deserve a huge pat on the back! Crying is ok, laughing is certainly a big ok and most of all screaming at us for HELP is the best! We will be here for you - don't forget that! I been thinking about you today and sending good wishes and thoughts your way. Hi Babs- I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!! 7 DAYS!!!!!!!! THAT IS A REASON TO CELEBRATE - GIRL!!!! YOU DID IT!!!!!!! THIS IS YOUR LAST DAY OF HELL WEEK!!!!!!! Your determination is amazing. You have pulled the strength up from your toes and it is popping out of your head!!!! You're awesome!!!! Although I have to admit that doctor's actions were a little weird... I'm glad that you don't have to go back there anymore. You are doing this on your own. Use the cut in half straws, get some Twizzlers, sugar free candy - anything that will help that fixation. Have a great time camping! Getting out in the outdoors will be wonderful. Fresh air, rest, peace...just ask the campground not to put you next to some smokers - they'll stink up your fresh air. Getting away will be good for you and your hubby - just being together with no stress, enjoying each other's company. Maybe that will help your lower back pain - just relax, breathe! I also saw that program on tv - wasn't that the grossest thing you had ever seen. I was so sad that I had done that to myself for those years. NEVER AGAIN!!! Anyway - I'm rambling at this point...but wanted to tell you how glad I am that you posted before you left and that you are a wonderful, smelly good, non-smoker!!!! I AM PROUD OF YOU!!
