Dear ShellyBell- The short answer is addiction... We are addicted to nicotine... We can't take one puff... ever. My Quit is cold turkey, and it's really simple, ShellyBell - ya have to want to stop smoking more than you want to smoke. If that's true for you, hang on, stay close to this website, and ask for help. Post and read and go back and read the posts here on the site, they have helped me so much. Let us know how we can support you, dear one. Hi ShellyBell and welcome to SSC. I hear it sometimes takes a few times to try and quit before you truly quit forever. I used the patch to help me, which helped me to get over the mental or the habit part of smoking. Everyone is different. Good luck and congrats and deciding to smoke.
