Hummy reaches 1 year tomorrow on May 5th. What a lady, what a friend, what a quit. I, like many others I am sure, have buckets of thanx for her humor, warmth, compassion and inspiration. I am blessed to have spent the last year going through this process together. Let's all join in giving this very special person a HUGE congratulations. ***ONE BIG FAT YEAR*** Luna, youre a peach! Thanks for starting this post. -By the way, if Im ooooold, youre ancient. :p Well, Penn laughed at me for my VERY long 6 month post, so this one will be shorter. (He expressed the belief that the one year post would be War and Peace LOL.) At one year, Im free FINALLY. You can be, too. Do your homework, read and post, find a mentor/mentors, grab a buddy/buddies, get your quit coping plans and goodies together, JUMP, and hang on tight (N.O.P.E.) You will find that you have considerable strength and a will that is more powerful than you imagined. You will see that your body has a wonderful capacity to heal itself. Your muscles and brain will function better. You will look better, smell better, have greater endurance, and be SOOOO proud of yourself. Try it. Youll like it. I promise. A great big THANK YOU to the SSC and our fabulous support team. Many thanks to my quit buddies: Rain, Dee, 3Galeh(Wendy), Shevie, Luna/Carole, Golferman(Joe), and Yoda(who I miss very much green jello and all). I would have NEVER made it without all of you! Much gratitude to my many mentors: Duffis(Bob), Lolly, Rusty, Ladybugg(my weird sister), Major Dude(Dan), Pete(Roxanne), Penitent, Joyfulspirit/Cherie, Nan, UFO, Arenshay/Sher, Bogman/Davog, Brenna, Nostradamvs/Melanie, Walkingeagle and Attaboygirl, Ros, Missyfit, Georgie and to Darkmyer/Mark (who doesnt know me but whose writings supplied me with wonderful reading material). You have all given tremendous insight and support to me during the past year. There are others Ive laughed with, cried with, dieted with and just clowned around with: Lady, Carpepax, Newbkr, NotPatchesAnyMore, Mc, N2k, Kiwikeith, Catdaddy, Coldturkey, Butterflyswimmer, Brentw, HealerWithin and many others. I forgot someone hmmmmmm oh, its YOU. Thanks to all of you for the support, caring, laughter, and camaraderie. With love and hugs. Not cravin', never cavin'.
