Ron There is some very important and wise advise here. You say yourself how important your quit is. You have worked so hard and it has been tough. Stay Strong - Stay Quit. Keep on doing the coping, and working and all of the things that have brought you to this place of freedom that you have now. Work what works. You are in my thoughts, take care. If this is an operable, non cancerous tumor, you have unwittingly done the most positive thing possible to prepare yourself for this operation. You have given your body almost 3 months to recover from the ill effects smoking has done to every organ of your body. You are in the best possible condition for the surgery..........do not smoke.........this will undo all the good you have done over these last 74 days. I have lots of faith both in the wonderful advances in surgery the skill of these doctors and in God. You are in my prayers, Ron. Ron, I don't know how I missed your post. I apologize for this message coming so late. I just wanted to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are and will be with you. A friend of mine recently had a brain tumor removed as well and she came through with flying colors. You will to. Attitude is a major portion of our successes in life. Please go into this with positive powerful thoughts cause you want to send your brain the right message! Look forward to hearing how well you are doing post surgery. Remember, smoking is not going to help anything, but may infact complicate things. All the best, Joonie My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 34 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 689 Amount Saved: $119 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 18 Mins: 16 Seconds: 10

Ron. Wanting to smoke and smoking are two different things. In your situation I think I would want to smoke too but know that I wouldn't and hope you won't either. You are in my prayers. Hang tight. You are going to be just fine. When you get back make sure you check in with all of us and let us know how you are doing. We are all here for you. No Smoking Allowed. Ron, You will be in my prayers as you undergo this surgery. Just remember that smoking will NOT help... it can only make things worse. Hang in there. I know you're strong and that you won't give up! We will all be thinking of you. Crave the Quit! Ron, Nice to meet you. I can't really add much to all that, so... what they said. Lady said it best, though, I think. It's OK to be stressed and think about smoking, but please keep it at that. You can triumph over this! Imagine how good it will feel to know, and be able to tell others, that you quit smoking and got rid of a tumor all in the same year! Strength be with us! Ron, Stuff happens. Coincidentally this happened after you quit. Maybe there's a connection, maybe there isn't. One thing I can tell you for certain is that smoking complicates any surgery due to its effect on the blood vessels. Vent all you want to here... just don't smoke! I wish you all the best in your upcoming operation and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Be Strong. Be Smart. Hi Ron Wow, that certainly is some serious news. I would want to smoke too. But DONT. You know what I'm going to tell you, being an OR nurse and all. Being and smoker and having surgery do not go well together. Smoking is not going to make this go away, nor will it make it easier to handle. What it will do is throw all your systems out of whack, ONE WEEK BEFORE SURGERY. You also just happen to be entering a bad a phase of the quit right now, Ron. A lot of people have a bump right about now. You can get through this. You have been through a lot. I'm giving you the helping hand that you have given me the last few weeks. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
