I'm glad you have such good friends that held you accountable to your quit. I'm glad you left the situation. Cigarettes Not Smoked

but nobody would give me one. I guess it was a good Idea to tell everyone that no matter what don't give me what I ask for. We went to a get together tonight and it was a nice night to sit outside. Well thats were all the smokers were. After almost 2 hours, I asked for just one puff and they all said NO WAY. Nobody wanted to be held responsible for me failing. I accepted there answer. Did some deep breathing and then left shortly after that. I'm so glad I didn't smoke but I really wanted to just have one puff. AlleyAnn, 60 days - tremendous!!! You said yourself that is seems not that long ago we went through hell week with the rest of the Shamrocks. Do you really want to put yourself in a position to repeat that time in your quit??? Please don't put your quit in danger by hangin out with the smokers and thinking you are untouchable. Very risky move and you know it. I'm very happy you did not get your puff, but next time your friends may not protect your quit (It's your job!) so stay away from that stuff! We have seen your happiness and enjoyment of being smoke free and we want to see you keep it that way. So in the spirit of the Smogfree Shamrocks - HAPPY 60 Days AlleyAnn!!!! You have 60 days now you wouldn't want to blow that by just one puff (which would lead to just one pack) Hey wedont want to lose any of our Shamrocks do we so lets keep the quit going! What is you reward for 60 days? Alley Ann - Those smokers were just stinkin' up the night air with their stinkin' stuff - don't go out there with them again...or go out on the front porch if they are in the back. That was a close, close shave and if not for some very loving friends you would have to reset your quit meter, get off the cruise ship in the middle of the ocean on the way to the beach, and probably would have beat yourself up unmercifully. Girl - don't go there again! You have a wonderful quit going and some wonderful friends! Alley, You made it through a tough situation and relatively early in your quit... be proud of that! Many have succumbed to the temptation when out drinking with friends... I am one of them (over 200 days ago) so I know how difficult that situation can be. Congratulations on making it through! The fact that you planned ahead of time for your weak moments shows great preparedness and wisdom. You knew there would be a time when you would be weak and you needed your friends to be strong for you, even though they are smokers. Sounds like you have some really good friends! Mine all "forget" that I told them not to give me one ever. It sounds like you've got a good bunch there that really support you! That's awesome! Be proud that you made it through, but also learn from this. Next time, you might not be so fortunate, so make sure that you're prepared. You now know that going out drinking with your friends is a trigger, so be ready for the temptation next time and come through as well as you did this time. Crave the Quit! Alley, It truly is a great group of friends you have. I don't know how many times I've been taunted into smoking by people I know...knew! Yes, a few of them are not in my circle anymore for that reason. Sad, for sure, but most smokers really don't want to see others succeed where they have failed. Quit sabotage is more rampant than you know and you are uber-fortunate to have friends like yours. That is when you "leave the situation". You have overcome a big obstacle. Knowing when to leave social situations where smokers are present is a very important coping skill. You learned it...good job My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 82 Amount Saved: $11.25 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 33 Seconds: 25
