Hi Babs- I just knew that you were doing well and just couldn't get to a computer at the campground. Don't worry about the mood - maybe when everyone leaves things will be calmer and it will be easier to have a great time. I certainly am proud of you and your quit! I know that your husband is as well. Just think how much healthier you are now! Miracles happen every day and I think that you are one of them! You are doing such a great job fighting that one day it will be like you never smoked. It may take a while to get there and that temptation is always just around the corner - but you are doing such a wonderful thing for yourself. We've been missing you around here but I knew that you were doing great!! Have a great holiday! Babs - I think we all here on these posts would be glad to be your buddy! All you have to do is log on when you are having a hard time and cry for help and you will be amazed how fast someone will come to your rescue. I will be happy to be there for you whenever you need help! (Except after 9 EST - out go the lights)LOL - however, there is a group of folks here that call themselves the Night Owls and they post under the Forum discussion threads - they are on at different times during the night. Amazing group of people! Being disabled you are really going to have to "Own your Quit". I am proud of you for wanting to quit more than you want to smoke. I don't know anything about the laser therapy but I know that many NRTS work wonders. If you have lots of time you can spend it here on the website - using the tools for the program - laughing, crying and having discussions with the wonderful folks here. It sounds like you've had a tough time lately. Being smoke free will be the beginning of a new great life for you. I gotta run now - I'm at work - but I will check back on the site tomorrow morning (I have class tonight). In the meantime, take care - check around the message boards and read, read, read. Hi Babs - Just wanted to check and see how you were doing today. Are you finished with your laser treatment? Get ready for tomorrow... use the tools in your Glove Compartment and the Program workbook. You can do this! We have complete faith that you can use the laser and be strong and Don't Smoke! I thought about you after I got out of class last night and your friend situation (friends where you live, we've got you covered here, my friend!). Why don't you invite them over to play cards - or watch a chick flik and have fun where you live. Try to make it a monthly affair. You can just order pizza or something! Maybe that will pull them back into your circle. Anyway - just a suggestion...post here and let us know how your day went. Stay close tomorrow on your first day of being a non-smoker! How great does that sound?? Take Care and know that everyone on the SSC is here for you! Hi Babs: Sounds like you had a full day yesterday. All the tasks that the doctor gave you to do will certainly keep you busy. Just take it easy and do all the things that he said to do. He gave you some good advice. Just remember to throw away all your ashtrays - that will help to put those cigs out of your mind. Can't wait to see that 1 day post. I know that you are determined to do this and so it is. You will own your quit! Hey Babs, Another star for you, you made it through another difficult day. And yes it does hurt when your family doesn't support you. Babs, just look at your stats, wow 25 days that is so tremendous. I hope by now you are all snuggled up in bed and fast asleep. Get all the rest that you can get. Got to keep that energy level up. You will start having some good days soon. Babs, I guess I am so blessed, my whole family supports me and are so thankful that I have quit. I'm sorry that you had to leave the banquet, but you did the right thing by removing yourself from the situation. Anger, is a hard thing to deal with, I still have some of the anger left. I just try to gentle it down and replace it with more love. Of all people you wanted encouragement from was your Mother. She will come around, just wait and see. Babs its not okay, they should be so proud of you. I'm glad that you have let it go. Babs, I don't know if there hasn't been a day that I haven't thought of a cigarette, in some shape or form. But its not cravings. Its just a passing thought, like I will see someone smoking, of course I'm going to thing of smoking, but I don't. When I go to the grocery store, you think I don't look toward the cigarettes, of course I do, and they just keep getting higher, and higher. And I say wow, glad I don't have to spend $30 for those this week. Babs, I don't remember if I told you or not but I smoked for 50+ years, and if i can quit anyone can. We each grow differently. And I was lucky that I could use the patch. I don't know what HELL WEEK IS. Then I read that other people on the patch is having the same cravings as people are having going cold turkey. That is what I don't understand. I wore the patch for 70 day, took it off and I had small cravings but nothing I couldn't handle. But that doesn't mean I don't think of them because I do. Every time I get in the car, I automatically think of a cigarette. I guess I smoked a lot while in the car. Don't you just love the way you smell, and your clothes smell so fresh. And best of all your home, I love that fresh clean smell. I am so proud of you Babs, and glad you are home and safe. Yes, you sure have had some tests, but you have passed them all. Your SSC family is always here t

Hi Babs, So good to hear from you, and to know that you are safe at home. Wow what temptations you have been through. I hope the nap will help renew your strength. Babs, this is what SSC is all about if you want to vent, then vent all you want. It is good to get all of those thought out in the open. Writing them down in black an white helps. Just look at those 23 days, in 7 more days you will be 1 month. You are fighting a good fight. Get all the rest that you can get. So you will have the determination and courage to fight some more, the cravings should be letting up soon. But don't ever let your guard down. I am proud of you, I have watched you suffer through this quit, so have the faith that you will continue this journey. You have been tested to the limit, and life don't seem fair sometimes. So just take one minute at a time, and one step at a time. Thanks for posting and letting us know how you are doing...Talk with you later. Hi Babs, You sound so different today, I can hear it in your words. Babs we had a little part of your quit, you are the one who did the work. Hanging in there from minute to minute. I was your commitment and determination that got you through. And I'm sure a lot of prayers. Now you are getting the courage to fight when ever you need to. You're finding which coping skill are working for you. Its a whole new life, and learning how to live our lives in a different way. You are becoming more positive about your quit. As you said you can began to see the light at the end of the tunnel. What a good experience you had with your Dr today. He must be a very compassionate man, and he cares for you. So glad you hooked back up with him. I'm sure he is very proud of you knowing you have make the right decision to quit smoking. I'm happy that you are feeling better about going back to the campground, that means you have a plan and you know what works for you and that is part of your planning. Now you know what to do. I'm sure that first couple of weeks are engraved into your brain and no ones wants to go back there. You are beginning to feel the freedom, but don't forget to keep your guard up really high.
