I've been trying to quit smoking for the past couple of years. I've been seeing a threapist for the past couple of years. And I'm on medication for depression. Right now I'm out of work because of my depression. The doctor told me NOT to quit smoking right now. But I really want to quit. I live with smokers so this is not going to be easy. I want to try to quit cold turkey. Today would be my first day. I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem I do. How do you quit when you already is depressed? I know this not an easy task. There has got to be someone out there who is depressed. I went to the store today and bought patches. I've used them before so I kind of know what its like. So far so good. I still feel like crying. But I guess thats part of the depression. I have a long way to go. Thanks for all the support. Its good to know I'm not the only one who has depression. I had a rough night last night. I did alot of crying. And smoking. Things seem to be better this morning. I'm trying to think about quitting my job or not. Its not an easy. I seem to be out sick alot because of my depression. I really want to quit smoking but everytime something goes wrong I light up. It seems to go hand in hand. I don't feel very productive latley. Thank you for all your support. I need to know there are other people out there that are in the same situation. I know there are. But I feel like I'm out of place at work. I feel out of place everywhere!
