Riverdale Man... You will find that each stage of your quit will take you to new heights and places you may never have visited before. My entire world has changed for the better since quitting and I think that is the testimony of most long time quitters around here. Quitting is quite a journey. On this journey I am learning about me. It's an awesome experience. I just wanted to say that it sounds like you have found what I call the path to the road less traveled. Enjoy your journey. One of the older quitters here, Mike, use to always say "The journey is the reward". He couldn't be more correct. Congratulations on your success. Keep going. It get so much better. There is every tool known to man kind here to help you beat this addiction to nicotine. Read, post, vent and do what ever it takes, just don't smoke. Quitting is just that simple: just don't smoke. I smoked for 58 years and gave it up for a better life. I am now quit for over a year so I know it can be done. Good luck to you, hope to see you here for a long time. Duffis duffis's Quit Stats Since Sunday, February 13, 2005, I've been smoke-free for: 1 Year(s), 5 Days, 7 Hours, 50 Minutes, 27 Seconds. I have saved $1,554.00 by not smoking 11109 cigarettes. By not smoking I have added 80 Days, 5 Hours, 25 Minutes, 36 seconds. to my life expectancy.

Hi River and welcome to the SSC. I smoked for 30 years and I'll be 46 for about 14 more hours lol (I intend to stretch every last second of it). Anyway, you've found a great tool in finding this site. My suggestion is to make it a daily part of your routine for a while. It'll help build the knowledge and confidence you need to make your quit stronger. The support here is extremely valuable and I attribute it to being a huge part of my own quit being successful. ...and like Duffis... that's over one year now ...woohoo! Just remember, all you have to do is NOT smoke... do whatever it takes :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/2/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 381 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,628 Amount Saved: $1360.17 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 9 Mins: 21 Seconds: 0
