Cuddles, Stop thinking so much!!! You are dwelling on quitting so much that you are keeping yourself in a constant state of anquish over this. Get on with your life. You are not just about cigarettes, you have a life beyond them, so start living it! You aren't denying yourself a smoke, you are choosing NOT TO SMOKE. Big difference. You are making this way more difficult than it needs to be. Stop the bus and get off! Kill this damn addiction and get that stupid cigarette out of your mouth! This is what you are really doing when you light up.... Hang in there! [b]Be Strong. Be Smart. Cuddles this smoking thing and trying to quit is somewhat like those Nationwide commercials. Life can hit you hard, life can hit you fast. A true winner never quits trying no matter how many times they may fail. Pick your self up and dust off, take a look at why you are quitting; regroup and try, try again until you get it right. Tom, From your post, it sounds as if you have no problem quitting, you just have a problem staying quit. If you can completely quit for 4 days, you can quit smoking. Youre allowing yourself to go buy a pack whenever you feel rejected or stressed. You have to want to quit more than you want to smoke. Some suggestions: Write down all your reasons for quitting. Read them before going to buy another pack of cigarettes. Make a contract with yourself (this came from Duffis/Bob). Know that you are worth quitting for. You deserve a healthy smoke free life. You will need to learn to cope with stress and disappointments without cigarettes. Find an alternative. Take up Tai Chi there are some great videos out there. Start a new hobby that takes both hands. Learn relaxation techniques from the net, books, a class. Sometimes being at wits end is a good thing. Eventually, youll just get fed up with smoking and say, thats it I wont ever smoke again. Dont give up Tom. Quitting will be the best thing you do for yourself. Not cravin', never cavin'.
