Sorry Jess, I didn't answer your question. I was rambling. lol. The only other thing I looked at was a stationary bike, but I figured I spent enough time on my butt as it is. Hi Polly, How are ya doing? It's funny, we sound like we have the same pets. I also have a slightly overweight beagle. She is almost 5. She is my 4th child. Then I have 2 cats. One is a neutered old male, so you know he has a belly. The other is a female who isn't even 1 year old yet. Ever since we got her she has had a saggy piece of skin that hangs from her belly. She is much cuter than she sounds. Anyway we named her Tic Tac. Since she has never grown into her belly, her nickname is Tic Tac Saggy Sac. lol. Keep Strong, Keep walking. I only have 2 more of my 7mg patches left and then I will be... dA dA dA.... NEKKID!!! I have been trying not to think about it too much, as I don't want to freak myself out. What has your regimine been like. Were you ever on Step 1? How long on Step 2 and 3. Don't worry Sunshine I'm sure we can handle it, right? RIGHT!!!! We're non-smokers now!!! Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions. I am going tonight to get one. I like the idea of sticking it in front of the t.v. I can put it downstairs in my rec. room. I look forward ...'groan' ... to becoming a Treadmill Potato! Lady, Thanks, but go clean your glasses. LOL. I have gained a few "ahem" pounds since my quit. I'm not sure how many because I have a no soliciting, no scale policy at my house. Suffice is to say, I am bigger than a bread box, but smaller than a car. lol. No, probably about 7 pounds. I am thinking of buying a treadmill, as my dreams of walking outside everyday have not happened. A friend of mine uses hers faithfully for 30 min. everyday since Christmas. She now claims to have buns of steel. I'm not sure about that but I did throw a penny at her butt and it came back and gave me a black eye. Boy, can I sure ramble! My question is... Does anyone have one of these contraptions? Do you have any tips for me, so that I will actually use it for excercising and not for hanging clothes on. Your suggestions are warmly welcome. Thanks redrosie My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 50 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,221 Amount Saved: $415 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 23 Mins: 1 Seconds: 18

I bought a treadmill and a weight machine, I think they are great. Great for exersice and also great when you have a craving. You get on and walk until the crave passes. I gained about 15 since I started working on quiting in Oct of 05. Bought the equipment in January and have lost about 8 pounds. So for me it was worth it. You are as cute as a litter of puppies! So witty! :) It just so happens the hubster and I bought a new treadmill not long ago. Tip #1. Pay a little more for a model that will hold up over time Tip #2. Place it in a room that will not get too hot in the summer Tip #3. Listen to upbeat music while you use it The best way to start is to set a goal to do so many workouts in a certain number of days. When you meet that goal. Set another. Goal setting is key to continued use. Go for it girl! You have nothing to lose but butt ;) ~all the best 2 My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/20/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 184 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,068 Amount Saved: $920 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 13 Mins: 17 Seconds: 30

LOL your post!! :) For a non-excercise couch potato I can tell you unequivically that the treadmill truly is the bomb!! It's very cool to have a nice bum for once in my life and love the strength in my legs. The novelty of easy hills and stairs......go figure. I admit if someone told me this is the fun stuff when you quit smoking I would have been more than a little skeptical NOPE, Janet :eg: My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 214 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,294 Amount Saved: $1070 Life Gained: Days: 28 Hrs: 7 Mins: 35 Seconds: 53

WTG, Rosie, Just remember that you may not lose weight right away but if you aren't gaining, you are doing good. The amount of excercise I do, I should be a twig but haven't lost much at all. However, they say muscle weighs alot so fat loss doesn't show up on the scale. You GO girl, Janet My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 214 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,296 Amount Saved: $1070 Life Gained: Days: 28 Hrs: 7 Mins: 57 Seconds: 46
