Matt, Just keep going - all the advice is good - one day at a time and plenty of education about triggers etc - this is a good place to be Peter My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 45 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 685 Amount Saved: $315 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 5 Mins: 3 Seconds: 15

Hey Matt, Congrats on your decision to quit! Its the first step to success!! Whatever happwens with your quit buddy I hope you still pull through. I used to have a friend who was my quit buddy he fell off the wagon but i continued on that quit. Do this quit for yourself, that should be your first reason for stopping. I suggest you drink lots of water and juice to get the toxins out of your body, read up on this site, and read up about quitting smoking, maybe keep a quit smoking journal if you want. I find staying close to this site helps and reading and posting keeps me on track! Welcome Matt and Congratulations on your decision to quit. You've come to the right place. Be sure to take advantage of the program tools to the left. The best advice we can give you is to take one step at a time. When you feel you can't take it any longer...just keep going. The only way to quit is N.O.P.E. Not One Puff Ever. Each day gets better. It's a long, difficult journey but the rewards of being quit are worth every bit of it. Read as much as you can and stick close to the site. If you need help just post. That is why we are here. Welcome to the SSC. Read and post here all you can, and be kind to yourself, this is not an easy journey but one that is well worth while. If your friend can't quit don't use that as an excuse to end yours, you have to keep your quit separate from his. If your haveing trouble don't be afraid to post, someone here will help you through it. Its not easy but its worth it!!! Hey Matt, I was happy to see your post because my friend Danny quit today so I will send him this thread by email. I have faith in him however I can't convince him to take the journey to the left which is so vital. There is a lot of good stuff here for him to read. I wish you lots of luck Matt. I've managed this far - you'll manage too. I give you all the strength you want. I'll brag by boasting my 3 year quit in exactly one month. Meet me there ok?
