A question for women, men you don't want to read this.

Hello, Sorry to hear of your bad luck with PMS etc. Please be careful with this. If this continues it may not be the cigarettes at all but rather endometriosis. I was diognosed in my early 30's and had a hystorectomy by 34. I would notice that when I had my period, smoking seemed to make it worse...pain, nausea etc. That didn't stop me from smoking although it should have. Chocolate, coffee and salty foods will also do the same thing. I would say if your symptoms do not retrieve, I would see a doctor. Good Luck! I am so sorry if anyone is offended, but I'm wondering if a "problem" I'm having is related to me quiting, or something else. Did any other women notice a change in their monthly cycle, or pms symptoms? I'm having unusually bad pms, extreamly emotional, and I won't even get into the rest (it's just better that way). I just thought maybe the shock of quiting could be to blame since this is the first "friendly visit" since I quit. Sorry if anyone read this and didn't want to know. I just get weirded out sometimes, and it makes me feel better if someone else is disfunctional in the same area. It makes me feel supported (lol)! Thank you. Big TIME! I've been having problems with PMS getting worse in the last year anyway. I've started wearing a hormone patch 7 days prior so my first and only experience so far with PMS has been really bad. I feel very angry, depressed, and like I just want to crawl out of my skin. I used to smoke a lot more during my PMS week.. now I'm just stuck with all the "stuff". So yes, it is difficult. I fogot where I read it, maybe on this site, but it suggested that you not attempt to quit the week before your period.. Gees, now I know why. My advice, whatever it is worth, is to remember that it will be over soon, and just hang in there. At least we know that part is cyclical and we will get through it. My first PMS was week 3 of my quit, and it was a doozy. Be proud of your quit and you'll make it through that yukkie week. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 31 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 933 Amount Saved: $217 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 0 Mins: 41 Seconds: 39

Little Mama, I was like Butterfly.. and saw less symptoms.. strangely enough, I usually got one day advanced notice with pain in my legs.. but first period.. sneaked up on me.. no notice.. weird.. no trying to explain this stuff.. lol The emotional part.. I started out emotional and remain that way.. I think I just feel free to feel things more now.. again.. can't explain.. abletobreath... I often wonder when it will happen to me.. and if I will become crazy. I am 46 and my mother went into menopause at age 45. I wonder if I will go crazy and require medication and and smoke again. I take that back.. I won't smoke.. but I can't promise about the going crazy.. now that runs haeavy in my family.. lol Knight Chrisine My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 35 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 886 Amount Saved: $122.5 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 18 Mins: 10 Seconds: 29

Little mama, It's alright... you're not the first person to have questions regarding this. In fact, this is a fairly common symptom. Some people (like me) noticed a decrease in symptoms (sorry, didn't mean to rub it in  ) while others experience what you are experiencing... both are very common and very normal. Read this if you want to read some more posts about this topic. And don't be embarrassed... this is an anonymous website, so post whatever you want :) - as long as it's quitting related, of course. :) Crave the Quit!
