IS WEIGHT GAIN NORMAL WHEN YOU STOP SMOKING?????

19 years ago 0 586 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
ryan, I too just posted to your other thread... I don't know how old you are but "too young to maintain a healthy lifestyle"???? Hmmm. If you're concerned with your appearance, then let me suggest that you let those smokes go. They're totally destroying your looks. Is it possible to unspread? Well, it's possible to get into shape and look good...if you're willing. Weight gain is a tough issue for a lot of us...but if we can quit smoking and get back into shape... so can you. shevie, what do you mean spread? I thought my face was looking fatter. I might just have to start up again. This is ridiculous. I am too young to be maintaining a healthy lifestyle anyway. I can't have any fun.

Ryan, my neighbor gained a bunch of weight when she quit -- she didn't alter her diet and in fact, just started stuffing her face to compensate. So she went back to smoking. Guess what? The weight's still there. Rusty

Bonbons, Almost all smokers notice this. You may tend to eat more than you used to. Your body's absorption of food is improved as well, so you will gain more nourishment even if you don't eat more. How long will this last? The first few weeks after quitting. Tips to help: Try low calorie snacks or beverages. If you have a symptom that persists or seems worse than you expected, you should immediately consult a doctor. Its possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable. Hope this helps, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
