Hi DOC and Cori,
Welcome to both of you and congrats on your determination to quit. I have found that this site is very helpful and the members are amazingly supportive. The information here helped me build a good program and the members have pulled me through some tough times including one VERY dark night. I believe you will get out of the progam what you put in to it. This is work . . . hard work. It can be done though. Take some time and read through the posts and pay attention to the quitmeters of the members. There are some pretty impressive numbers out there, an inspiration in itself.
I only have 2 weeks quit, but I would share this with you: Find ways to keep your mind and hands busy. Learn to breathe-activities that force you to focus on your breathing are great (I have been learning to play harmonica). Develop a mantra. Mine is not finished yet but the rough draft has already helped me through some tough moments. It is, in part, "I am not a social smoker, there is absolutely nothing that makes it OK for me to have even one drag of a cigarette..."
Good luck! We're with you!
