Strongest urges on which day

18 years ago 0 1079 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi guys and gals. The hardest for me Bones was day 10. I had almost talked myself into buying a pack of cigs. Luckily I was able to talk myself out of it. That was a week ago, and I really feel that was a big hurdle for me to get passed. Now, I once again feel I can do this for the long haul. What day into your quit are you? In the beginning it was the withdrawal, now the withdrawal has changed to cravings. Days 2 & 3 for me.......naked, plucked and shivering large edible bird however, so the peak of the physical withdrawal bit. Other than that, it's dealing with the triggers. I actually drove into town this morning and knew that I was going past a layby that I used to stop and smoke in. I was talking to myself on the way past and shouted "another trigger buried" as I cruised past (you don't half get some funny looks from other drivers during this stopping game!). After about 20 day.....it definately gets easier and easier......then we have to worry about getting complacent! I have been craving on and off since I started; so set day but alot of my friends want to know how I go to the bar and have a beer. I actually am better there than at home. I really miss it alot then because that is how I used to take a break from cleaning or whatever I was doing. It is getting easier though, I did not realize whan I quit that I would have to become a totally different person, a non-smoker, that has been difficult, but I will deal with it. I've some good news for you Bones. The strongest urges have happened to me on and off since I've quit and the great news is that I now know they will pass and I will make it through. I posted once after about a month quit at how shocked I was to be getting a crave to smoke after 30 days. It just came out of nowhere but then it left the same way. Some have posted that at the 100 day mark they have a crave. I'll let you know as I'm close to that. I really believe a lot of this is in our minds though. If we believe we can get through the craves we will. If we look for excuses to smoke we'll find them. Now that I know that some have posted about the 100 day mark, I think I'll be stronger for knowing it might happen. We'll see. One thing I do know is that I will never take my quit for granted. Keep your quit. vicki just 1 puff away from 2 packs a day My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 93 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,738 Amount Saved: $651 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 17 Mins: 2 Seconds: 56

Which days as in how many days into the quit or which days of the week? I'm only at day 15 here and truthfully haven't really had any real cravings to speak of...I have thought about smoking and how I miss it (not so much the smoking but just the act of it). Anyway, I'm sure others will respond that will explain what your asking better than I did. N.O.P.E.
