I was put to the test today....

Hi everyone! Well i was put through a stress test today and not the kind your doctor gives you. I was at the park with my stepdaughter today when she fell and seemed to be ok but then started passing out. She has many medical issues so i started to become frightened that something might be wrong. To make a long story short the ambulance took her to the hospital as a percaution and she checked out fine, all bloodwork was normal-thank god!! After i was proud of myself for how i handled the situation. i did think of cigarettes while i was speeding to the hospital but that was it and even at that time actually having a cig was still not an option. What happened today proved to me that it can be done weather your happy, sad, stressed, emotional or whatever. I don't need cigarettes to get me through any situation. With that said, i'm still not foolish enough to think that i'm not going to have bad days and i will still use this site as an anchor cause it's nice to now i can come here for the encouragement and push that we all need to get through our quits. One dat at a time & DEEP(smoke free)BREATHES!!! Proud to be smoke free! BJ So glad to hear everything turned out ok. You are right that sometimes an emotional event will trigger our urge to light up. You did a great job and you are well on your way. Keep your quit. vicki just 1 puff away from 2 packs a day My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 91 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,667 Amount Saved: $637 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 11 Mins: 18 Seconds: 22

I'm SO glad your daughter is okay!! And I'm glad you were able to get through a very tough time with only a brief thought of smoking. I'm very proud of you! You're right...smoking doesn't get us through the tough times...only makes us think we're "handling it" when indeed, all it's doing is covering up the truth! That nicodemon sure is a tricky one, isn't he!! Congrats!!! N.O.P.E. BJ, Thank you for sharing your story. We can all learn from one another's' experiences and it's sometimes the shock value makes us realize. Glad all is okay, Josie ______________________ The SSC Support Team.
