Ladybugg thanks for the great bump. It was a real eye-opener for me. No wonder it is one of your favs. I never thought of this journey as having stages before, well I did but it just seemed like hard....harder....easier....hard again... well, you get the idea. So it is nice to see it put like that. DENIAL, ANGER, BARGAINING, DEPRESSION and ACCEPTANCE. I will try to make some kind of crazy anagram in my head to remember this. I think I am going through all of these stages tonight, except for acceptance. That will hopefully come in time. It is what we all must aim for. Sunshine, It really makes me happy to hear you say that I have been a help to you. That is a real passion of mine, to do kind things for other people. I must keep that in mind as another reason to stay quit. I want to set a good example to others that this crazy journey is tough, but we can get through it. Also your post made me laugh, us both talking about waking up in the morning with more enthusiasm. Great minds think alike. Janet, I think you are all saying the right things about the patch. It would feel like 1 step forward 15 steps back. I think I need to tough this out without any nicotene. ChickenStix, thanks for the nice words. You're right, I was lucky enough to have such great people here tonight when I needed them. I jokingly said in Joyfulspirits Promise post that I would hang on till I received at least 8 REALLY good replies. Boy you all sure came through for me in a BIG way. Thanks everyone, I feel better and will be strong tomorrow and WILL NOT buy cigs or patches. This is too important to screw up. I will check in tomorrow. *O*O*O redrosie My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 73 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,775 Amount Saved: $605.9 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 4 Mins: 55 Seconds: 49

Iwin, you were right it does help. No Mans Land (or woman) seems to be right where I am now. I am going to have my hubby read that post and the one ladybugg bumped for me tomorrow. They both explain better than I how and where I am in my quit. Thank you for taking the time to post that for me. ladybugg I've got my anagram BAD AD... as in addiction!. Not bad for someone who's 1/2 asleep, but to be fair there are only 5 letters to unscramble so I can't get too excited!! lol. My humor has returned, always a good sign for me. Night, night don't let the bed bugs bite. (such a weird saying to send our children off to sleep at night, 1/2 of them must lay there afraid to close their eyes.) Good Grief I must get some sleep, I am really getting loopy! Thanks 3galeh! and Casey for your replies. I am proud of my stats but I still feel so ... I don't even know the words. I had so much excitement and happiness in my quit and now it seems to be gone. Zip, just like that. I have felt this way for about 2 days and I hope it will pass soon. I don't know how long I can keep this struggle up. All my coping skills seem to have deserted me. I so want to get through this. I already feel a sense of doom about myself. I MUST stay strong. Tomorrow I go for groceries and I DO NOT want to break down and go to a store that sells cigs. I think I should maybe buy some 2mg patches to get me through. But even this feels like a step backwards. What do you think? Hi Penguin thanks. Acceptance is a good word for some of the things I'm feeling. I need to accept the fact that this is a HARD struggle, that may take a long while. It is not something that will just magically make you able to say " I am now a non-smoker who will NEVER smoke again". I have heard too many people with years under their belts start smoking again. Damn this addiction, I wish I had never started. We thought we were so cool back then. "Look how grown up we are" What a bunch of bullyouknowwhat that was. Now I am a grown up having to deal with all these "cool" consequences. I think I may be a little angry. Way better than apathy, I need to fire myself up again. Get angry at this horrible addiction and take control of my quit life!!! Thanks Lady, you always have such sweet words of encouragement. I know that this will pass, like all the other bad spots have, but it sure sucks until then! How can I get the pride I once felt back. It sounds as if my honeymoon period is over and the real "marriage" has begun. You know.... the wake up and see the same face everyday period, where you say "Is this it?" lol. Just me trying to joke my way out of a scary situation yet again.... nervous laughter perhaps? I will hang on for tonight. One minute at a time, one hour at a time right? It's what got me through the first 2 weeks. Must remember this. Thanks Lana, you have always had such nice things to say to me. A little kindness can go a long way when you are feeling low so thank you I really appreciate it. All you Ladies are being such a great help. It is so nice to have you all here when I need you. Can I have some more thoughts on going on the patch again. I really am thinking it may be my lifeline, but I don't want it to turn into my pacifier. Thanks Janet, you made me chuckle when I read Victorias Secret as a reward. It may be a reward for me , but a fright for my husband. lol. No the ol' weight gain hasn't been that bad YET. Sheila, Lady and Butterfly, thanks for your thoughts on the patch. You are probably all right, but I am so fearful I will buy cigs tomorrow instead. I sure hope I wake up on a more positive side of the bed in the morning. I hope the sun will be shining, birds singing and me driving with the windows down right past the corner store.
