and since I have my feet wet, some time today I will run out of cigarettes and have decided when that time comes, I will jump in and not buy anymore. So I decided a week earlier than I had planned to quit and I feel real good about doing this. Thanks again for all who have given me advice, hopefully I can help you all out when I get some quitting time in. Christian Girl

Kaiser and Shevie, thank you so much for your support and to anyone else I may have missed. At 8:00.p.m everynight is another 24 hours smoke free for me, so as of 8:00.p.m. tonight............I did it!!!! I made it through day 3 and now I'm into day 4.........with the Lord's help and all the support here, I did accomplish it. Thank-you!!!!! BUT WAS IT A GREAT DAY????? she asks. No and double NO! It started out GREAT and then as the day progressed it got harder and harder to cope with the craves. But I think I know why it was so hard for me today and I want to share why, so those who may be struggling with their day 3, might get something out of my post or not.....LOL. For me personally, I have a LOT of bad things going on in my life right now and I really don't want to tell yous all the bad things but two of them are: my husband's best buddy, friend and the one he talks to almost daily is dying from cancer. He has an inoperable(sp?) brain tumour on the left side of his brain and he was only given 3-6 months to live which is a crock, because only God knows that info. Anyway besides this, someone in my own home is also struggling with a disease. Because of my faith, I try not to let the negatives in my life get me down or dwell on them. I always give thanks for what I have etc etc.... but for some reason today of all days.......I let those negative thoughts back in. I recieved two rotten messages, one through e-mail and one by telephone. Normally, rotten stuff is just swept under the carpet and I deal with it in such a positive way, that it amazes myself. Most things, situations will not bring me into negative thinking but I wasn't always like this. But TODAY, I found it tough with the cravings and then both rotten news, got the best of me. I remember now how quitting smoking is such an emotional ride. I cried so much today and felt self pity and anger and sadness and even lonliness. Then it happened, I prayed, and read the Bible and studied on-line with a site I have joined and I looked up stuff I was having trouble with understanding in concordance etc. THEN I STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE AND SHOOK IT OFF!!! In other words I made a decision to get rid of the negative thoughts, I read positive thoughts from what others had written on-line, I read many many devotio

Thank you so much Kaiser and Congrats on your 80 days smoke free! And God rewards me everyday in many ways. Yesterday was a little rough and I now have the flu virus that my kids had last week. Not fun but just a little bump in the road. Today I have another Bible study class from 10-12 and then a lot of book work to catch up on as I am the treasurer of my church and have fallen behind a wee bit. Today is day 3 for me and I have found in the past that day 3 seems to be hard for me for some reason even while using the patch, so say some prayers for me to make it through this day and I will keep as busy as possible too. I started today out real good by not letting the junkie thoughts in my head while having my morning coffee but then as my oldest son drove my van with me in it at 6:00a.m. this morning to his rugby practice, I felt the urge to have a smoke, only because he makes me nervous when he drives as he has only driven a few times. I kept praying that whole ride. Anyway, I have to go, lots to do. Have A GREAT DAY!!! Christian Girl p.s. I check the box to show my quit meter and it never shows up???

Well I did it!!! It wasn't too bad at all. Everytime I got to cravin, I thanked the Lord for what I had in my life, then focused on what I would like to do with the rest of the day. I ended up changing my living room around and doing some major spring cleaning. I had one moment today that was sooo bad of a crave that I focused on myself and how I pictured myself this summer at certain events being smokefree and happy. I know I have a lot to attend to socially this summer and I visioned myself being at one event in particular all dressed up in a new dress, tanned, with no cigarette. Dang! I looked good. Hey, it works. Made me feel happy to be there when "there" hasn't even come yet. LOL Thank you Lord, for giving me this amazing, incredible life, and for making it possible to enjoy every part of it, even the tough times. Tomorrow should be a walk in the park as I have Bible study group and then a meeting and also someone coming for lunch who is new to my area, that I invited over, and I know she doesn't smoke.
