Hello everyone, I am Bill. I want to quit smoking for good. I have quit twice in the past for about 2 years each time. However, I always end up with the sugar coated garbage again. I hope this forum will help me. I quit this past Monday March 20th 2006. I lasted until 8 pm that night. I am going to beat this. Any help would be welcome. THanks

Hi Bill my name is Matthew thanks for the message you posted. Since your going to try to quit again next Monday and I was going to quit Tuesday maybe I'll just quit Monday with you. I wouldn't mind pushing it up a day anyways. I added you to my buddy list. We will do it!

Good morning tnranger! I am glad you came here! This site is the best, and second-most part of my quit success. I read old posts and new ones all of the time. I have always found someone that has gone through what I am feeling at that exact moment. It is awesome....... Just give it a try. I do suggest to use the tools though. You have to have a plan. Without one, you will be scattered and stressed. And they are not good. It sounds like you are determined this time. Stay strong, and do not light up that next cig. Take one craving at a time! You can do it! Hi Bill, Quitting is hard. It may be the hardest thing you have ever done. AND it can be done. If you want to not smoke more than you want to smoke, you can make it, and have a successful Quit. My Quit is fairly new, and I am protecting my Quit with everything I have day and night. No one or no thing is going to come between me and my Quit. Come rain or shine, I hold my Quit up and I do w/e I have to do, each moment, each day, to keep my Quit strong. I am learning each day new tools to add to my Quit toolbox, and you will too! Read the posts here on the site - they will help alot. And post alot, ask for support when you need it, just write and process what you're going through. There will be good and bad and really bad days. Emotional roller coasters and strange dreams, anger and tears - and you can do this - we are all doing this, dear one. Hi tnranger, welcome. If you really want to quit this is the site for you. There are great tools on the left that are very helpful. Nothings better than seeing that meter climb! Also there is some very helpful, nice people here who will reach out to you whenever you need help, praise or just have a question about this process. Read the posts, very informative. Set a date for yourself and get prepared and informed. It is possible to beat this, and you will feel awesome about yourself. Bill...welcome to the SSC and congratulations on your decision to quit. Be sure to check out the program tools to the left and develop a plan for your quit. It really is simple. Don't light that next cigarette. Notice I said simple, not easy. As long as you can do that, you have this addiction beat. Take it one step at a time and one day at a time. When your desire not to smoke outweights your desire to smoke, you will quit. You can do it. Hi Bill: Welcome to the group! You can do it. I hear that the on-line program here is great with some very valuable information for quitting. I quit by using the Allen Carr method. It has been easy for me and I do owe it to this method. I know how difficult it can be though as I had tried many times before and failed. Good luck- you can do it! Just need to find the way that works for you. Keep us informed! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 49 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,481 Amount Saved: $264.6 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 13 Mins: 41 Seconds: 26
