My thoughts on pre quit date

18 years ago 0 20 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
No one may not care about this but it helps me to focus on quitting. So to clog up the board. Ok, I now have started my prep for the BIG DAY on Monday. I have cut out all cigs at work lunch and break. Not even one! I normally smoke about one pack a day. Today only two so far and it is going great. I can really do this once and for all. The two I had were one driving to work and the other after breakfast. I should have set in the nonsmoking section. :( After breakfast I told myself..wonder if I can make it to luch without one. Then I did..so I said ok lets push it a little more. Can I make it though lunch? YIPPIE!!! I did and now I am starting to think maybe I can make it on the drive home without one. umm I wonder if I could? I think I can. If I make it that long I think I may try to quit alltogether tonight. The cravings are starting to hit really hard now though. That is why I had to post. It has made me feel better already..that that crave is gone..... THis will be my final quit!!!!!!!!!! Bill

Ok...I just had another. I just could not take it again..but going from 20 a day to just 3 so far. (It is 3 pm here in Nashville) Not to bad. Monday is still my quit day so far. Maybe Saturday or Sunday. I will beat this addiction to a pulp. No way I lose again. Bill

[font=Comic Sans MS] Hey tnranger !! Wow you really have made some progress. I would suggest that you quit sooner than Monday. Now, this is just my opinion.. but, you are already down to 2 a day and you are keeping the nicotene going with just those 2. If you go ahead and quit.. in 3 days (the weekend) you will be over the physical addiction.. It's easier to quit on the weekend.. usually no work to deal with.. Again.. this is just my opinion watching from afar.. You are doing great .. there is a new March quitters group called the Shamrocks... I'm sure they would love to have you. great support on this site.. stay close.. you will quit smoking for good.. Pamper yourself when you do quit.. take it easy.. read a lot.. drink a lot of water.. eat well.. sleep as much as you want.. BE POSITIVE !!! If I can do it.. anyone can.. (I amazed everyone at home..) Hang Tuff... You have very quickly hit on maybe one of the most important things I found out early on in my quit. That is to focus on getting through 1 minuite at a time, 1 hour at a time, etc. To think of no cigs forever can be very overwhelming at times, so this is a much more achievable goal. It's one way I got through the first few weeks. Good for you on cutting back, it's a good start.
