18 years ago 0 71 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Well today is my quit day and so far so good i know its only been a few hours but eh after 30 years of not quiting i deserve a cig, just kidding. I have brought losts of water to work with me. I probably wont get a lot done at work today because i will be on here with my support buddies but what the heck this is more important right. They will get more production out of me when i have more energy-Oh **** not a good thing. anyway chewing gum getting up from my desk when i have a wow feeling should get me through the rest of the day I hope

Hi Mookie, hang in there!!! Get your scripts filled. Breathe. Chew gum. Drink Water. Read. Post. Relax. Sleep. Exercise. Whatever it takes. We are here for you. You do not want to smoke. Nicodemon wants you to smoke. Tell him where to go when he starts lying to you. Don't fall prey to him. Kick his butt. You can do this Mookie! Throw those smokes OUT! Your doing great but don't tempt it! I am almost 3 weeks quit and my hubby still smokes. Your right this is individual and you can't force her to want to quit! Its tough to accept at first but once you get your quit in line then you realize that you are responsible for you and she will make her choice when she is ready! Stay close and don't smoke! Quit Day So far so good...if you can call this hell good.I really want to smoke and i miss it. I have many health issues which smoking only worsens. I know how important it is not to light up. I'm angry with myself for not being able to refrain from this demon. I have struggled with this for more than 20 yrs. I can help everybody but me. I feel so stupid. BIG BREATH... I am so out of control. I stopped my prozac on Tues because i ran out of meds and didn't get it refilled...(big duh on that one) Since then I have lost my wedding ring...made a deposit to the wrong account...and I'm not smoking.......Holy molly....Big Breath

When i woke up this morning I vowed to myself not to light up. I had no coffee in the house and had to go out. I managed not to take my smokes with me and have since returned home and had a cup of coffee. I am really wanting one now so i thought I would come here. Its better now....Big Breath...... but its very hard to maintain My quit date was yest and all the junkie thoughts are right there!!!! I trying to wait for my partner to make her quit date so I keep puffing away too. Today I went through with my plan. I realize that I have to do for me.....everybody is different and goes through withdrawal in their own way... I will be back in a few. Need to go for a walk.

Mookie, That's right! Preparation is the key :) Take the time to make a list of what you need to keep you quit. Coping mechanisms, distraction techniques and avoidance can all be of help. Take the time to post often and let us guide you through. Our online support group knows how you are feeling and they can help. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
