Zada, The decision to quit smoking in itself is such a huge step in the right direction. It is important when deciding to quit, that we quit for the right reasons and that we truly feel we are ready to quit smoking. Honesty with one self is key to a successful quit. Be true to yourself and your endeavor to quit smoking and you will successfully succeed. If you have not, please take advantage of our free quit program as you access your glove compartment when logging on to our site. This program will help you through each step of the quitting process. Remember the SSC Support Team is always here to help you with your quit. Please keep us posted. Take Care, Melanie ______________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi, I came across this site last night after I was disgusted with myself after smoking. I woke up early this morning and decided that today would be the day I quit. So I quit. I am using the patch and I think that a support group like this one may just be what was missing from my previous attempts at success. Zada

Good for you!!! Did you read you little assesment about coughing? Your cilia is growing back and it is sweeping that crap from your chest!! It's productive and it is all coming up!! PLUS it's all that mucus your body produced whilst you were smoking! I am coughing but not as much now :) Drinks LOTS and LOTS of water or juice :) I have found the more liquids I have drank, the easier it is :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 19 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 155 Amount Saved: $38 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 17 Mins: 5 Seconds: 28

This is very inportant in your quit. Stay strong and battle every battle that comes your way. Ask for help when you need it, or encourage someone else who is in need. You will be suprised how much that will help you. Helping someone else gives you growth. Hi Forever - GOOD 4 U! It's not easy but the rewards are worth it. I wouldn't worry to much about any weight gain. It seems temporary. I gained about 10 pounds when I first quit because i substituted some snacking for smoking but that leveled right off and I'm almost back to where I started. I feel a lot better than when I was smoking. It's great your hubby is there to offer you encouragement. Lean on him. You're fighting a good fight. Keep it up - you can do this!
