Good morning, Cinda. Congratulations on 3 smoke-free days. That's fantastic! :)
Coming here is an excellent replacement. It's a proven fact that you can't light a cig while all 10 fingers are busy on the keyboard. ;p
By the end of the day the nicotine will be pretty much out of your system. That doesn't mean it's all over, not by a long shot. But it is a step forward. It does mean that the physical withdrawl is over and now your quit becomes purely a head game with yourself; the addict you vs. the rational non-smoking you.
Distraction is the best treatment. Changing a routine, such as you did this morning, is a form of distraction so you're on the right track.
Exercise is another excellent coping method. I've ground many a crave to dust by walking, either on a treadmill or just around the block.
And when all else fails, curl up in your chair, close your eyes, and rock back and forth singing "Three Blind Mice". :8o:
You're doing great, Cinda. Keep up the good quit.
Shevie
