Jan, Hurry up and do something about your life! It seems to me that you're using the doctor as an excuse to smoke. You say "IM NOT HAPPY SMOKING I STILL FEEL SICK AND HEAD ACHEY BUT REALLY NEED THE NRT,S TO HELP ME ON MY WAY!" but you know as well as I do that you can get NRTs over the counter and don't need to see a doc first... and you say you really hate it, but it seems to me that you're just saying that so that we don't pounce on you! Well, I'm not going to pounce... my knees aren't that great :eg: but I just wanted to point out that perhaps it's not the doctor who's putting this quit off... it's you. Come back Jan! You don't need a doctor for the patch or nicotine gum do you? Go get it yourself. get started. You can do it. My doctor is supporting me with some xanax to control anxiety. I used them a lot the first few days but I don't need them anymore. I started with the patch, gum and xanax, I'm down to just the patch now. I still have a ways to go but I haven't smoked and that's something for me. I was hard core! Go get something and get started! The sooner the better!
