I almost gave in. My 25 yr old daughter (who lives out of town) visited me last night. She left one of her cigs on top of my entertainment center and said, "Mom....if you really want to quit, you won't smoke that". I told her to take it because I wasn't going to smoke it...I was going to throw it away. She left it anyway. I picked up the cig....ran it back and forth under my nose...then quickly tore it up. NOPE! Whew. That was close. I don't know what possessed my daughter to do that, but she did. I made it through my first week and am taking one day at a time....really...one waking minute at a time. The nicodemon will not control me. I control it. Blessings to one and all. Great job JuJu... I believe I would have smoked it. I still try to avoid smokers although they no longer bother me the way they use to. Its just been recently though. Be very careful and protect your quit at all costs. You wouldn't want your daughter to have a cigarette around during a moment of weakness for you. There really is no playing with this addiction. It is powerful and it will take the control back away from you if you allow it to. Congratulations on the strength you showed in getting rid of that cigarette! Good Job JuJu.......Sometimes people dont realize, this is a strong addiction we are dealing with....During the early days of quitting, we don't need any added temptation...You did GREAT. If someone would have left me alone with a cig during my first few days, I think i would have smoked it and regreted it later....My only stragegy was to stay as far away from cigs as possible. As time went on, it got easier to be around them.... Keep up the good work.....Tell your daughter...Not a good thing to do this early in the game..
