great will power i know its hard. As for the lady at one of your offices i feel for you. I work at an office where they all smoke at their desks talk about temptation! However when they come in and stand next to my desk they stink! I love the fact that my husband now says he loves the fact he can smell my perfume not the smoke..He has recently quit about 2 weeks he did not smoke he chewed tabaco yeah no more spit cans around! I too had my first outing in the midst of smokers last weekend, I too past the test, we can not avoid people that smoke, thank goodness these people were kind and went outside to smoke, hang in there....my worse moments are in the afternoon, I can go all morning and all of a sudden the want for a smoke hits real hard, this will last for about 2 to 3 hours and go away, talking about needing will power not to give in, I am proud that you did not give in and I am proud that I am hanging in there let's hang together for the next 33 days one day at a time

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hello everyone...its been over a month of non-smoked filled days...wow...I am so proud of myself!! I just wanted to know if everyone else has "smoking" friends that feel you "need" a cigarette?? I was out with my husbands friends last weekend. Everyone smoked but me....wow...that was hard. I had 3 drinks and stopped because my resistance to say no was slowly leaving me...and everyone kept offering to light me up a cigarette...is it me...or does that happen to all "non-smokers" when they go out with their "smoking friends"? Lady, This is horrible! I dread going to Europe this summer visiting my family. I know how my mom ticks, and know that she'll be trying to tempt me. Good thing though that most of my friends over there quit, so I'll be spending a lot of time with them. :) I just am very proud of myself, and love that I am free of these horrible things. Next time you should ask why they are offering you a cigarette though they know that you quit? I really would like to hear their reasoning behind their actions. When I told my mom (who smokes a lot) that I hadn't had a cigarette in 4 weeks (didn't tell her that I had quit before that) her answer to it was, "we'll see how long that will last." Very encouraging, isn't it? You're doing great, the fact that no one was able to tempt you, and that you recognized that your resistance was leaving you shows how strong you are. Guys, Important thread which is definitely worth reading.I think some old hands have hit the nail on the head with previous posts. These 'friends' would give their right arm to be you - over a month into your quit...They long to have the will power and perserverance that you have. They would do anything to quit - but quit itself. Most of my friends are much more considerate and are really more in awe of someone who has quit cigarettes. If someone tempts me - hell I take it as a compliment these days - I don't smoke anymore and as i tell them no thanks - i give them my 'wouldn't you love to be me?' smile...hehe "stay strong and no junkie thinking"Text Peter My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 56 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 846 Amount Saved: 280 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 16 Mins: 0 Seconds: 26
