LOL@Lady..That is funny. Thanks! Btw~ they didn't throw away the key :eg: -->THE SECRET KEY -- Thanks again Hummy and Hi! :) It's always a great surprise to see your name pop up these days. But..uh...*hands on hips* Hummy you said Rusty's post was about 'relaxation' and so technically that was not enough information to know which one you meant! :p I actually do remember 'things to do on a tough day' very well~ Another great one from Rusty. Thanks for the link and for teaching quite a few of us 'how to' link a post. ;) -- Thank you very much freedomforme :) The SSC is a special place. There are some really good people on this site and it warms the heart to realize most will live longer lives because they learned how to quit smoking.
And the jails are filled w/ trembling folks begging the guards, "Please, man, just one quick look at 'Bill the Cat'..." And comedians sulking around back alleys selling their jokes in 'Dime Bags'...
LOL!!~ I didn't know you had posted this here (UNTIL RIGHT NOW!) Funny! *methinks meshould keep up with meself more* :quest: I'll get right on that after I finish my online grammar & spellN class ;) --- So folks~now that you have read this thread. Let me ask you some questions (no need to answer~just food for thought) What are the causes of stress in your life (your job? your children? money?) Can you identify the stress signals (headaches? nervousness? or trouble sleeping?) Have you created peaceful times in your everyday schedule? (For example, set aside an hour where you can get away from other people and your usual environment.) Have you attempted any new relaxation methods? Will you stick with the best one for you and remember to use it when you crave/want to cave? -- Disclaimer: Not everyone needs to learn new ways to cope. I know at least one member, I'll not mention names (Rob47 :eg:) who simply toughed it out with willpower (*Obviously he is a bigger man than me!~lmbo) and he has a very successful quit. :) So whatever works for ya is fine by me. This thread simply explains what did/does work for me. Perhaps it will work for some of you too. I was looking for this thread to bump in honor of N2K making the Hall of Fame. (my favorite N2K thread was locked) After reading through it once again I realized more stuff. This journey just goes on and on. All the me's are getting it together. For those early in the quit, hang in there however you must. It doesn't matter how you get through, what matters is that you DO get through those rough times. N2K... Thanks for being here (and there) to share this journey. You are remarkable and deserve to be in the HOF even if Hell is a little cold now :p Lady My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 582 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,648 Amount Saved: $2037 Life Gained: Days: 52 Hrs: 13 Mins: 52 Seconds: 50

bump for Chrissy and anyone else dealing with stress. Kids can be very stressful, but only when we allow their actions to dictate our reactions. Screaming, defeatist comments disply their own ignorance to lifes problems. I don't advocate physical violence against an out of control child, but I can assure you that when you just grab a cigarette you give them the reaction that smoking is the way to deal with life. Your husband, as an adult, should not feed their tempers either. Hang in there. Life without the cigarette crutch is possible. Millions and millions do it. Be Strong. Be Smart. Okay, I yield. Since much of Rustys post is about relaxation, thats how I remember it. But, if youre going to be picky about it, fine. I love this post! Hi N2K and congrats again on the Hall of Fame! :) I bumped Rusty's post about Things to Do on a Tough Day (you mentioned it in an earlier post on this thread). The URL is: here. You're mind is going. You replied to the post. I'm MUCH older than you and I remembered it. LOL :p Not cravin', never cavin'.
