What I will do tomorrow if I become convinced I NEED a cigarette

18 years ago 0 481 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
1.) Snap the rubber band on my wrist 2.) Read my reasons for quitting 3.) Drink an entire bottle of water 4.) Put a piece of sugarless gum in my mouth 5.) Post a cry for help on SSC and wait one hour reading all the replies. 6.) If I am still convinced that I should go to buy a pack of cigarettes- I will do a nicotine lozenge. Wait 30 minuets, still reading posts 7.) If I still think I need to buy cigarettes, I will go to the store and get them and not open them. 8.) I will sit back down at the computer and put in another cry for help, a bottle of water and gum. 9.) If I can get one person on the website to agree that I need to light that cigarette, then I can smoke it. Guess what Mama? You wont ever NEED a cigarette again. You never needed them before. People who don't smoke don't need cigarettes and this is the first day of your life as a non-smoker. One step at a time. One more thing... watch out for #9 if you actually do #7. These people around here can be tough at times :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 335 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,709 Amount Saved: $1172.5 Life Gained: Days: 29 Hrs: 13 Mins: 31 Seconds: 26

Mama, Hope day 1 is going well for you! I agree that #7 needs to be thrown out, but all of the others are great... especially #9!!! You're a clever lady! :) Congratulations on starting your new, wonderful, healthy smoke free life! Crave the Quit! Mama, You are great and you will make Texas and your family proud. Let's replace #7 though with a walk around the block, a bubble bath, calling one of your kids, cleaning the bathroom or any of numbers 1-6 again! Three hours to your new life. WOO HOO!
