Hi Lady, I am very early you see:) Still what you telling now, is similar ( a bit:) to my experience, which gave me quite a shock. I realized a few days ago or so, that not smoking is not only a conscious decision, but also a conscious act, every day, fresh, new. I am still at the level, that every morning, still in bed, I tell to myself, I am not smoking... sometimes also during the day... It is also about much more than only the smoking itself. You are almost a year, and you would like to have "automatic" that you are not smoking. (it is a nice wish:) we always hope for some easiness, isn't?) Ok, probably your quit is not automatic every day, 24 hours, but still, you definetly "own" your quit, no doubt. Even by a sudden flash of like this - probably you own that even more - as it is made conscious once again. Ps. thanks for your posts, they are helping me a lot:) Excuse me for my poor English, I am writing from Europe. Hi Lady, I read and reread your posts... And am lead to reach out to you. Didn't really plan to write a novel :) What if there are no answers right now? What if it's not about 'knowing' and it's really about 'trusting' and just putting one foot in front of the other. And just breathing and Being and staying in the moment. And when we learn to trust (I share those trust issues w/you, Lady) we learn to trust ourselves first, always. When we have a hard time trusting others, isn't it really that we're not trusting ourselves? That one took me awhile to get... but I got it. I am watching you ask questions, answer some of them, share your amazing wisdom with others, and come here and share your process. Talk about courage... Could these be baby steps in trusting yourself on a level you've never really trusted yourself before? That sure is true for me. This is truly a journey, a powerful journey of self-discovery. And it sounds like and feels like you are in the middle of that magical and challenging 'forest' of self-discovery... Lady, this Quit journey is new for me I know. But I am getting it. I am learning about me. I am learning to trust me. This is all brand new, friend. Trust...Trust and surrender - what a lesson in wisdom that is. I have learned things about me I had no idea at the age of 54... I love the wind in my hair as I walk by the jasmine in my yard and smell the sweet fragrance that I've never really enjoyed due to my addiction. I love how my hands smell now after I put on my face cream in the morning. And I never knew how comforted and safe I felt when I crawled into bed with my favorite sheets billowing out the fragrance of my favorite fabric softener. I've never known this stuff as I have never had an intimate relationship with me. Until now. Have we ever known and truly loved ourselves, have we been connected with our souls? Or were we really hidden behind a nasty, bold and dangerous addiction that wore sunglasses, and hid in shadows in dirty, dangerous dark alleys where drug deals go down, while it stole from us our hearts, our souls, our senses, our thoughts, our feelings, our hard earned money? Hell that addiction stole our freedom. Lady, this is a journey, a process... Honour exactly where you are r

Hi Lady, There is no "supposed to" on this Quit journey stuff... Don't be so hard on yourself. Ya know, being a 15 year old, well, there's a good side to that if we're gonna look at 'good' and 'bad' - you just be a 15 yr. old today, be a kid, do something, or do nothing. You are being so in your head, trying to understand everything. Is that really serving you? What 'bout just being in the moment rather than trying to understand everything right now. All of the figuring out and beating yourself up is exhausting. Lady, watch your words as our words are so powerful, dear one. What would you say to any one of us who called ourselves a 'stupid kid' ....... Give yourself a big, loving hug from all of us. Hold tight, you've been here before... Just Be, Lady, my friend, just Be. I am much "younger" than you, but don't consider myself all that young, having tried this a coupla times before. Anyway, I think you nailed it on the head Lady when you said, "I just want to know when exactly is it that you really own your quit?". Personally, I don't think we will ever "own" anything.Just like the junky is always a junky, the alcoholic is always the alcoholic, such is the smoker. We will never own it, but can accomplish what we need to on a daily basis.WE MIGHT NOT CRAVE FOR YEARS, BUT THE LITTLE VOICE INSIDE YOUR HEAD CAN COME WHISPERING AT ANY MOMENT. Lady, You are a shinning star, and don't let that nicodemon tell you any different. You will make it through this emotional time. I want to thank you for sharing and putting all of your cards on the table. We all know how hard this journey is. Lady, I lost an 18 month quit about 4 years ago. And it has taken me this long to get ready to try again. I hate to say try, I should be saying I'm going to do this. I am trying with all that is in me to do this, and I know that you will too. I don't know what to say because you know everything there is to do. So right now I am believing something is going to click and you will wake up and be your own bright and shinning star!!!! Blessings and love sent your way. Lady, I give my hand to you in friendship, I ask you to take it. You sound so fragil as if you are ready to break. I know that you are not going to smoke. I know that you have a strong relationship with God. If I didn't have a relationship with Him I don't know where I would be. I, at one time didn't love myself. I had to learn to love myself before I could love anyone else. I had no confidence in myself, and scared of relationships I didn't trust anyone. I had to learn to trust myself before I could trust anyone else. I'm still in counseling and I have learned so much about myself. I allow people to take advantage of me, I can't say NO to anyone, I do for others but not myself. She has shown me so much about loving myself. I also talk to my minister, my problem was, I didn't believe I was good enough, but then my minister told me "Carol you are a child of God", and I thought wow this is good. God is my Father. So now when I can't handle things all I do is say: "God I can't handle this, but I know you can". We try to do so much by ourselves and never ask Him to help. I've always been an out going person but like you I never got really close in a relationship. I was probably in my late 20's when I began to love myself. But I still allow people to take advantage because they know I will do what ever needs to be done. You have probably read some of my posts, this past year has been a year that really tested my faith and me as a human being. I lost a son, grandson, husband, and sister. This is why I am still in counseling. Lady, I just wish I could reach out and give you a hug and tell you that every thing will be okay. I thought I was the queen of "what if". We all question ourselves when things fall apart. I admire you so much, you have put all of you out there for everyone to see. Lady, that took courage. And I relize you are asking for help. I know that you will get lots of support from your family here. Since I quit smoking I have dug deeper and found things I didn't know still existed inside of me. I believe as we make this journey we all will discover emotions we never experienced before. Maybe we didn't know we were suppost to love ourselves. Lady, I will say it again you are a shining star, and once you began to believe that your star
