Newbkr,
Trusting oneself, especially after we've let ourselves down so many times can be hard, but it's necessary to do that in order to grow as a person. I know this analogy is really really old and cliche, but I'm going to use it anyway...
If a little baby learning to walk quit trying after the first time she fell on her butt, or even after she fell a dozen times, what would happen? She'd never learn to walk and would crawl for the rest of her life. She'd never know how great it is to be able to run. She'd never have the chance to walk along the beach, never walk down the isle at her wedding. Could you imagine having to crawl down the isle because you were too scared to walk because you fell a few times? She'd miss so much of life because she quit trying. But guess what! Babies don't give up after the first time they try. They may cry for a bit, especially if they fell really really hard, but no matter how hard they fall, they always get up to try again.
Don't ever give up on yourself. There are lots of us who have tried to quit in the past but failed... in fact, we're probably the majority here. There are even a bunch of us who have fallen since finding this site, but the important part is not that we fell, but that we got back up and tried again.
A smoke free life is yours Newbkr! Take it! Grab on to it! Don't let go! You WILL walk Newbkr. I have no doubt... and we're all here to hold your hands as you do it.
Crave the Quit!
