The Demon got me but only for a minute...

I am so dissapointed in myself. I had been doing pretty well my first couple days and then yesterday I slipped. I was laying in bed pissed at the world and I made a totally conscious decision to go light up. That is what pisses me off the most. It wasn't heat of the moment or in a crazy frenzy of stress. I was angry at dh for whatever reason and so I went and layed down about 10 minutes later I was on thep orch smoking a dang cig. UGH! All that hard work down the drain. I am starting again this morning. I was so tempted to just go back and say screw it but I do remember the MANY reasons I wanted to quit in the first place. Wow, this is so hard. So, my journey begins again. I have an easier time when hubby isn't around. Its easier to not smoke when you don't have to think about it so much. When he is there and goes to smoke I go nuts! Its all ME so I can't blame him for that but it still makes it difficult! UGH...back to square one!!

let me tell you, my quit would be so much easier if my hubby went away, the kids would stop arguing with me, I didn't have to go to work, my Aunt hadn't died yesterday (so sad), my sister would pay her rent (she rents a house from us), my best friend hadn't stood me up on friday, the guy in front of my hadn't cut me off, the cost of gas wasn't going through the roof, I could just forget about the $30,000 in student loans I have to pay back, the cat hadn't thrown up on my NEW carpet! It's difficult... and it only takes letting down your guard for a minute. But you realized your mistake... now it's time to fight again... And this time to beat the Nicodemon. Hello Krazy, That would be do difficult if I had to live with a smoker. Luckily for me, we quit together. Just think of how strong you will become. You can beat this. There are many quitters who live with smokers. I'm not sure how they got through it, but I sure do put them on a pedastal!!! Take care and stay focused. You can do it this time. Remember what I said last time about your hubby leaving his cigs around. Make sure they are gone!!!!! You can do this!!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 43 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,303 Amount Saved: $140.61 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 11 Mins: 52 Seconds: 17

Kahne, OK, you messed up. Now, what are you going to do to prevent this in the future? Make a plan... come here and post and wait for responses, take a walk, exercise, beat your pillow... it doesn't matter what your coping strategy is, as long as you don't smoke! So make a plan for what you will do next time. Learn from this mistake and move on. You can do this! Crave the Quit! OK, So I've heard this story before. Oh wait...it's my story. Kahne I blew a quit at 107 days because I blamed dh. He was the excuse. He made me angry. He smoked, blah, blah, blah. Attach any words. It's all the same. I did not take responsibility. I was waiting for him to give me the junkie the right hole to climb in and take control. Don't give him so much power. Be an example to him. You must make this commitment no matter what. Do whatever it takes. You can do this. I know you can. You know you can. It's a choice! Kahne,,,going to bump up a thread 4u called "Let Them Fall" :) Anger is easier to deal with than pain,,,but u gotta recognize that when you're angry there's something deeper and what is it? What's really hurting u? Then you'll get past the anger, then u can cry and the healing will begin and you'll feel the wonderful calm after the storm and you'll grow emotionally and then the new u will get stronger and stronger as u see yourself making it through the storms :) GOOD 4U FOR GETTIN RIGHT BACK ON THE HORSE! You should be proud of yourself :) I hope hubby is showing your decision to quit the respect it deserves :) No matter what don't lite up... Keep on keepin on... Kahne, You slipped, now get back in there and learn from your mistakes! You can do this and you need to be prepared for such situations that will tempt you. Post often and let us know how we can help. You can succeed! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
