hello ex-slave.........good name, particularly like the "ex" part. At the risk of sounding phylosophical, or maybe simplistic or even arroganant depending on your perspective, restlessness is one of the curses we in the modern world have to face as we increasingly become more and more technologically advanced. It has been our habit, no pun intended, to fill our restless moments and " free " time with smoking. That 5 minutes or whatever, it takes us to poison our selves at regular intervals each and every day, gives us pause. We are "doing" something and yet how effortless it is, we are filling a time frame.........not wasting time, in other words. We have or at least I have grown up believing that time is very percious and we must make the best use of it, fill every minute, be productive. If we are not running here and there " doing " things for ourselves or the people around us, we might be accused of being lazy, idle, useless or God forbid unproductive. We don't even read books anymore! We either buy them on disks and listen to them as we are rushing somewhere in our car or what till it come sour in movie form! God help us! We need to relern all of the automatic things we have been doing for soooo many years and actually THINK about what we WANT to do with our life and our very short and percios time on this earth. Remember spending time just lying on the ground watching the clouds with friends and finds all the wonderful shapes? How about we park the car at the lake and watch the sun set? How about we spend one day a week or even a month visiting someone at a nursing home.......imagine how you could make their empty day happy and maybe give them something to look forward to each week. There are countless was we can show human kindness........I can't even begin to mention them. Maybe I will in another note as I feel very passionate about the very selfish world it has become.........no more boy and girl scouts helping old ladies across the street.........no more Grammer school kids collecting for the March of Dimes etc. Sorry, about the rambles but, life is for sharing and giving and we have wasted enough time on satisfying discusting, selfish and distructive behaviors. Make a difference ex-slave............stop feeling sorry for yourself ( not meant a
