Mama wants to know!

I don't know about moving mountains and there sure are a lot of mountains moved to me. YES YES YES more supple skin, more fresh looking, not as grey or pallid and I am simply pink. My breathing has its own issues and I will find out if I have done anything really nasty to my lungs and I don't knopw where I read this but our lungs are actually capable of healing. I hang onto this hope. No more nasty stains on my fingers, my teeth are whiter. I don't smell any more not that I noticed before and I did a radiacal cleaning job the week I quit. I am way able to swim and I have not gained a pound in fact I have lost maybe five and from swimming very regular I have lost 2 inches on my waist. The list goes on ..... Absolutely, mama. The one and only regret I have is not having a "Before" photo taken when I quit. My wife, friends, co-workers and myself all see the difference, but I have no way of doing a side-by-side comparison. I've been told the change is about 10 years younger. Not that I look 40-something now, lol. But I used to look much older than my 54 years and now I look younger, so I'm told. BTW, most of the change happened in the first 4 months. Hi ya Rusty! I may not be able to leap tall buildings, but I can sure ride my bike for miles without doing the "gasping" thing. Now, my legs give out earlier than my breathing. If you haven't quit yet, do this: Walk up several steep flights of stairs. Quit smoking. Wait about 1 month. Now, walk up the same flight of stairs. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Breathing is a lovely thing. :) Not cravin', never cavin'. In another thread, mama asked:
Is your skin better and do you think the aging from smoking is actually reversable a little bit?
I'm 56 and smoked for 40 years. All those wrinkles I earned over the years aren't going to go away. But my skin is definitely clearer and brighter. My teeth are whiter. I can smell better and I do smell better! I have a great deal of energy. And now I have a great deal of motivation and enthusiasm, because quitting smoking also comes with a bonus: the knowledge that I can put down an addiction and live to tell about it. How about everybody else? Are you feeling younger, stronger, able to move mountains and leap tall buildings with a single bound?
