a little fear may be healthy, eh? Congratulations. Glad to hear you are doing well. Enjoy your new perspective from high on that ladder. The only way you can fall is if you jump and why would anyone do that? keep on keepin' on - fish My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 130 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,925 Amount Saved: $650 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 22 Mins: 2 Seconds: 18

Hi Infinite. I know what you mean about the time thing. One minute you feel like you are going insane and like the craves and withdrawals will never end and then all of a sudden, you are looking back thinking...Hey, I did it! I quit! What an awesome feeling. I anxiously await that one year mark myself. It's so exciting being this far into it. Hard to believe that You, Hummy, Shevie, and Joe were all ancient when I first got here and you hadn't even made it to the beach yet! LOL Enjoy this time. Remember to take time to cherrish your blessings every day. Hey Infinite! It's good to see you checking in again. I think camping with your sons and a nice vacation in Oregon sound like wonderful rewards! Glad to hear your manager is still quit! Katy, you haven't missed anything! He's still got 2 weeks! Congratulations a little bit early Infinite! Crave the Quit! Lady, I'll back you up on the ancient thing! ;p I too thought that Shevie, Hummy and the rest that were only a month out were ancient! The farther you get in this thing, the more that time gap closes. It's weird how quitting distorts things. Infinite, Congrats on 11+ months! As Shevie asked, I'm anxious to hear what your reward will be. You've done a fine job here and you should reward yourself well for it! How's your boss' quit? I hope that is going well and that he's still quit. I'd love to hear an update. Wow, May sure is going to be an exciting month around this place! So many awesome people having 1 year anniversaries! I can't wait for the festivities to begin! :p Crave the Quit! Tomorrow I will be in my 1-year-anniversary month! :8o: How crazy is that?! Wow. Time really does fly, doesn't it? It's like I was just telling someone at work the other day. I can remember being younger and dumber, (come to think of it, I think that's right around the time I started chewing tobacco!), ;p Anyway, I remember, for some darn reason hardly being able to wait until I was 18. Then I couldn't wait to be 21. Well, I'm now older, and I can't figure out what the rush was all about! :) Now that I'm married with 2 little boys, it seems like I just can't hold onto time! Where's it going? At the start of my quit, time dragged by at a snails pace. I'm sure I've said this more than once, so I'm sorry if I'm boring you :p but I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. It seems like FOREVER since you've had your last "hit". Then, as you get further and further into your quit, it gets a little easier with each passing day, and then, before you know it, you sit at the threshold of ONE FULL YEAR WITHOUT TOBACCO. Maybe it's just now starting to sink in, I don't know, but all of a sudden, all at once, I feel happy, proud, and yet somehow, still a little scared. Maybe it's kind of like looking down from a tall ladder?! I don't know. 21 days from where I started, this time, last year. Go figure... :) Infinite_D My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 344 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,241 Amount Saved: $378.4 Life Gained: Days: 44 Hrs: 14 Mins: 3 Seconds: 40

Sorry for the delayed response all. Life is just too stinkin' busy as of late. :| Casey, fishoutofwater, Shevie, ladybugg, Lady, Mc, Butterfly Swimmer and Katy - thank you. :) Likewise, you have all been tremendous inspirations to me as well. To answer the question about my manager, he's still quit. He told me the other day he was having a hard time and thinking about giving in. I talked him out of it and convinced him he needed to tackle a bag of sunflower seeds instead, and he did. So, he's doing good at the moment. Still quit at least, and I'm proud of him! As for the reward question, believe it or not, I still haven't really figured out just exactly what I'm going to do! :quest: Maybe I'll take my boys camping and fishing for a weekend! I want to do that a couple of times at least this summer anyway. I know in late June / early July we're heading up to Portland, OR for a week of vacation, and that will most definitely be nice! Other than that, well, I don't know. I'm just happy to be rid of that awful habit, and to be in the home stretch of one year feels amazing! Once again, thank you all, and best wishes for all of you as well! Infinite, my buddy! Just look at you and your bad stats! I know what you mean about the time distortion. First week takes six months, first month takes a year, then in just a few days you're looking at your one year anny. And, with luck, we'll have others following along behind. So have you decided on your reward? You need something that will make time slow down again as the big day approaches. Just like it does for your boys right before Christmas. Great to hear from you, my friend. I'm looking forward to the 21st. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 342 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,858 Amount Saved: $1299.6 Life Gained: Days: 63 Hrs: 22 Mins: 11 Seconds: 12
