Stoppin', Congratulations on 8 days smokefree! You are well on your way to a successful quit and a 'new you'. Take care, remember 1/2 day by 1/2 day. Stay Strong, Melanie ___________________ The SSC Support Team

You've got a great attitude Stoppin. I have been handling it hour by hour. It doesn't seem as hard when you keep your focus small. All those hours and 1/2 days do add up! Keep going! I go to bed each night thanking myself and all the "powers that be" that got me through another day. I wake up each morning reminding myself of all of the tools I have in place in case I need them. I mentally go through them 1 by 1. It's funny I use to jump right out bed looking forward to coffee and a fix. Now I lay there in bed and stretch and go over how I am going to handle the day. I feel so much better. Day 6 was horrible for me and now I know why. The junk thinking was trying to break my goals! How dare that happen! I had the "I am afraid of what will happen" syndrome. Some people handle it day by day. It works better for me to handle it 1/2 day by 1/2 day. I am at 7 1/2 days right now...Woo hoo My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 168 Amount Saved: $28.72 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 42 Seconds: 17

Stoppin' You know when you go to buy property it's all about Location, Location, Location... Well, when you quit it's all about Attitude, Attitude, Attitude. Take it a 1/2 a day at a time or even an hour at a time. When you wake up, grab that coffee and head over to the SSC for a bit for a change of pace. You are thinking before reacting and that is a very good thing. Many people lose their quits early on due to a kneejerk reaction to a junkie thought or a crave. You got past a tough day.. be sure to remember it and save that victory for later. When you get a hard crave or another junkie thought, be sure to look back and remind yourself of how you made it through Day 6. Keep on keepin' on! You are doing great and your Positive Attitude is helping to keep you on track! Be Strong. Be Smart.
