Good Morning Breakers! Hope everyone is doing well today. I figured out what to do to celebrate my 30 day milestone. I joined a local running club and went for my first run with them last night. It was a blast. I used to be a runner before I turned myself over to the cancer sticks. It is truly amazing what is possible when we make a choice to deal with addiction. Not smoking today....not worrying about tomorrow until it arrives. hello everyone! It's been a couple of days since I got I here. Everyone seems well. Penquin.. How are you doing lately? Lori- great reward I know before you have said you run, so you are definately doing something that you enjoy, Good job on one month. Luci- How was the facial?? Wonderful I hope. Read your othe post about the food, I feel for you. I have started a "diet" too. Tabby- Glad to hear things are going so well for you too. smokefree2- Things are well for you too it sounds. Great brent- Things still seem to be well with you. Still the mad englishman. As for me. I am now taking Welbutrin XL. I have had anger and anxiety issues and some moments of depression.(I'm not psycho really) I am having issues trying to deal with some of these emotions w/o a cig. I am not having any problems with the smoking thing. I still don't want to smoke. Just still don't quite know how to handle myself not being a smoker? Does anyone else feel this way? My cope with every emotion was to smoke and deal, now I just have to deal with it and I feel like I have lost a little of my control of my life. I thought I had it before, maybe I never have. My doctor is afraid w/o the meds that I might lose my quit. I'm really not afraid of losing my quit(as much as my mind). Has anyone else had problems with this. I didn't really notice it til I started watching what I was eating too. I think I just transfered the cope mechanism from cigs to food. Now that both are "gone and/or limited" I am having problems. I just don't feel myself here lately and am hoping in time I will learn to be myself again with out cigs. Don't mean to be a drag, but this is whats been gong on with me. hi Aunt Sissy, i can sure relate to you about the anxiety and depression. around the 2nd week that i was quit, i went into a terrible depression. i cried and cried for days. i think the reality of not smoking set in and i didn't know how i was going to cope without a cigarette...i used them to stuff all my feelings, good and bad. i am on Wellbutrin now too...it is sure helping the emotional rollercoaster and its helping with the cravings too. i am diagnosed with manic depression and on meds for that, and by adding the Wellbutrin has definitely taken the 'edge' off and kept me on an even keel. i know exactly what you are going through. comning here and reading alot got me through the difficult time. you did the right thing by posting...seems like a problem shared takes away it power. you are doing an AWESOME job, hang in there...it does get better. Hey Lori - I joined a running club once...then i came to my senses!! It combined two things I absolutely hate - physical exercise and getting up early on Saturdays!! I must admit, though, it did make me feel a little bit good...and I always do the CIBC run for the cure... Anyway. I'm glad you found something you'll enjoy! You deserve it. Breakers RULE!
