The scariest thing

First I need to give you a little visual....I live in and old brick house with a huge attic which I rent out. The apartment has it's own staircase that goes up the side of my house. My kitchen windows face the staircase and the little grassy area that is at the bottom of the stairs. Well now that you have a visual, let me explain what happened today. My younger sister (who smokes) was living in the apartment above me and recently she moved out. I thought, seeing how she moved that that was a great time to quit smoking as I would not be able to go upstairs for a puff anymore. I was not in the habit of going upstairs to smoke anyway but I thought that with her no longer living there, that temptation would be gone as well. Or so I thought! Today, while the new tenant was moving in, I was cleaning my kitchen and listening to my christian motivational cd's with not a care in the world. It was a beautiful day so I had the blinds on the windows open to let the sun shine in. I was busy cleaning and laughing at the speaker I was listening to when it happened. . . I looked out the window (for some odd reason) and there they were... The grassy are beneath the stairs just outside my window was where the new tenant had put some furniture from the truck waiting to be taken upstairs, in the mixture of chairs and tables was a stereo stand and on top of it was the scariest thing I have ever seen, in plain view was a plastic zipper bag and inside it were no less than 100 CIGARETTES!!!! I tried to dismiss it but I found myself looking out the window ery few seconds. Then the mind games started happenening.....no one would even know if I walked out there and took one........the torment became to much so I had to close the blinds even if I could not enjoy the sun! I did not even realize (until today)that the third window in my kitchen does not have a blind. I have to leave the room! All I could think of was "THEY ARE EVERY WHERE!" Well time passed and I eventually forgot about that lovely bag of cancer sticks and when I returned to clean my kitchen they were gone, Thank God! Needless to say, it took me all day to clean my kitchen! Just goes to show how wicked these things are. Well I got through the day, My kitchen is clean, but best of all, I did

Congratulations on your 10 days and for not "sneaking" a smoke. You are doing wonderful, keep up the good work. I think you should reward yourself for a job well done!!! PS Maybe you should consider renting to a non smoker next time :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 339 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,482 Amount Saved: $2542.5 Life Gained: Days: 44 Hrs: 8 Mins: 52 Seconds: 0
