Thank you Rusty. It's nice to know that you are always there. Just kind of makes things easier. I got an unofficial job offer today! A really, really good opportunity for me to put that hard earned degree to work. It will change our lives and things will be much easier financially. I'm really excited! It's nice to see things come together and turn out good. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 384 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,696 Amount Saved: $1344 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 21 Mins: 53 Seconds: 39

Seeing Joyful lose her quit after over 500 days has really upset me. I believe that on the flip side of that it has made me even more determined not to let my guard down. This is a horrible addiction and it is so sad to see one of close friends give in to it again. :( My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 384 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,691 Amount Saved: $1344 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 21 Mins: 20 Seconds: 9

Shirl... It's so good to have you join us here! Be sure to come by often. There is nothing quite like a bunch of good quit buddies hanging out and keeping in touch :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 384 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,687 Amount Saved: $1344 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 20 Mins: 58 Seconds: 29

Well, well, well.... look who finally decided to come out of her room. That must have been some ride down the river! It is nice to have you back. This place has been way too quiet without you and Hummy hanging around. We need to pop in more often. I feel like we are losing touch :( . It does feel great not to "need" to be here like I did before though. Now I pretty much drop by just to see how everyone is doing and try to help those that are struggling find their way. I wish I had known years ago how wonderful being smoke free feels! Of course I wouldn't have met all you great people if I had figured it out sooner. I'm hoping to have that new college degree paying off and having an excellent job offer by the end of the week! I have two very stong posibilities coming up that could really change my life. I don't even have to worry about being a smoker! Life is good! I'll let you know how it goes. Keep your fingers crossed for me. It is way too hot to be outside. Anyone have any ideas for indoor activities? I know! Hummy, How about you teach me how to paint? Can you teach me to paint like Josphine Walls? Now that would be something! :) Hope everyone is doing well. So nice to see my friends here. I really miss hanging out with you guys but I know you are always there. Cheryl...I think we all feel the sorrow of what has happened with Joyful. She has always been so encouraging and her news certainly sent me on a "why do we even bother" spin as well. Then I thought about it some more and relized we bother because it does matter. We are living much better lives without the horror of having to smoke. We have a lot more fun. Someone emailed me a reminder yesterday.... Incredible timing. Just when I needed it. If the Lord has you on hold... hold on! If the Lord has said "NO" to you... thank Him! If the Lord is molding your heart and mind... go with His change! If the Lord opens doors that you have asking Him to open... Praise Him! Be blessed wherever you are in your life today! God has His hands on the situation! I sent you the rest of it. I really hope it helps. If you didn't get it, let me know because I saved it. I love all of you. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you. Hoping today is better for everyone. Rusty I think you have a valid point there. It does saden all of us to see someone give up after so very long of being free. What a year of growth this has been for me and all of you have shared the ups and downs with me. That is the best part. Well, that unofficial offer is now official and I have accepted. A new chapter begins. I begin my new job in 3 weeks as a Cost Analyst for a large National Corporation. I am so excited! The best part is that these people will know me as a NON-SMOKER... When I am filling out all that paper work for insurance and everything.. those parts that say "Do you use tobacco products" can all be marked with a big X on NO. How awesome is that! I'm doing the happy dance today. Life is good and it just seems to keep getting better, and better, and better.... :) What more could a girl ask for? Stop looking, I'm here. It's been a hard week. But I am so glad to be over a year! My husband (who was not hurt) killed my car the thursday night on his way to work. Hit a deer. So have been busy doing all the insurance notification and setting up for the repair appraisals. Must be a busy time of year, because all the certified shops on the insurance list are full up til after the first of next month. So they are going to send an apraiser to my house sometime between the 10th and the 20th. Looks like I will be without my car for awhile. I am sure once we get the ok, it will be 4-6 weeks just to get the parts, then however long it takes to do the work. I will be lucky if I have it back by the time we take vacation in October. Good thing we kept the old car, she is old and needs oil every other trip to work, but still runs at 315,000 miles. Oh well, life goes on. Thanks for all the cards, fireworks, and good wishes. I will talk with you later. OK Lady, enjoy being smoke free. But when your doing your popping, remember our address. We will be here at least until we reach 500. And you have e-mail for desperate times. Keep in touch. Luna, glad to hear that you enjoyed your raft trip. I haven't seen the pics but I know all about doing stuff that you haven't done before. I am spending alot of time trying new things lately. What is the dogs name? Shieve, those were wonderful fireworks. Thanks for sharing them with us. I am going to go spread some cheer to the newbies...catch you later. Just a quick stop to say things are slightly better now. Making a list of all the reasons I would rather be where I am. I haven't come up with one to counter the road yet, but I will keep working on it. Found a lot of reasons to be thankful. and that is helping.Of course, the chocolate fudge brownies that I made and ate three of while they were still to hot to take a decent bite of probably helped that along as well. Here is to the scientific benifits of Chocolate. I am gonna really hate myself for this tomorrow. But I will still be smokefree. Thanks for the space...
