Shadow - YOU ARE FREE! Free to spend time with your daughter. That right there is reason enough to never think about smoking again. Enjoy the fieldtrip and enjoy walking around without that nicotine leash! Isn't it great that you could make the choice to go on your child's field trip instead of demon nicotine saying you couldn't. I can just hear him screaming, "No! No! You can't go because you can't smoke!" But no one was really listening. Congratulations. I@m sorry Shadow. I'm sorry that you miss the stinking breath, I'm sorry that you miss the disease, I'm sorry that you miss the wheezing, I'm sorry that you miss the waste of money, I'm sorry that you miss your life being shortened, I'm sorry that you miss the filthy taste of poisonous chemicals being dragged into your lungs, I'm sorry that you miss the opportunity to get lung cancer and die a horrible death, I'm sorry............... I'm really, really, really glad that you were joking and that you are proud of yourself. Because I am proud of you. You are an inspiration to me and to many other people on the site. If you have your cigarette in 20 years time, can I suggest lightly grilled with a little seasoning on a bed of rice and with a rocket salad. Brent :) :)

I know I have said this before on this site; I feel so proud of myself that I really did it. But I miss it very much and I will be so glad when time goes by and I can forget about smoking. It is still very hard but I am doing it. My daughter asked me to go on a field trip with her 7th grade class and normally I would have not gone because I could not smoke all day, well now I can go and I feel really good about it. Just wanted to post and let everyone know I am still doing this and will continue to do so, I may have a cigarette in about 20 years. Shadow- I know it, I feel it too. Sometimes I think the exact thing. Well....In a coupla years I'll have one. But then, up comes something like that bus ride. Those things are beginning to happen to me, too. Don't have to excuse myself to go out and smoke when I am at someone's home. Don't have to duck outside a store to smoke, etc etc etc etc....not to mention restaurants. Good thing we quit now, because pretty soon there will be NO restaurants, bars, bowling alleys, anything, where smoking is allowed. Real Leper-dom!!! HA!! Dear Shadow, You will not have a cigarette in 20 years. By then, it won't even be a thought, just a fleeting shadow (no pun intended). The habit of years dies hard, but dies. Hang in there and continue to be proud of your great accomplishment. Not cravin', never cavin'. Cigarettes Not Smoked

You need to dwell on the good about NOT smoking and quit with the thinking about how you enjoyed it! See smoking for what it is....it's dirty, disgusting and deadly.....the reason you felt "enjoyment" is because you were feeding that addiction and when you did....it purred. It is still there.....begging in this subtle way....trying to get you to think how much you "miss" it. It was killing you....get your mind around the truth of it....and then kick that thinking square in the butt! katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1468 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 58,753 Amount Saved: $8074 Life Gained: Days: 191 Hrs: 14 Mins: 10 Seconds: 33
