hi everyone, i'm still here, smoke free!!!!!!!so far!! something always seems to trigger it off, this time i think it is to do with the health condition i've got, i've got graves disease which sends the thyroid overactive, gets me down at times,i saw my specialist last week, he says it is still overactive,so up go the tablets!!!! i told him i had stopped smoking, thinking i had done some good! he wasn't impressed!! didn't even say "well done!" i quite the fags cos i had read it makes the condition worse, thought i would of got some word of encouragement off my specialist!! i think that is why i am wanting to smoke again, cos i am thinking " i have given up something i enjoyed, and for what! what a waste of time!! thought i was doing some good!! seems some people are only interested in shoving tablets down you!!" sorry for the moan, but it's just the way i feel at the moment. :quest: My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/11/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 62 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,255 Amount Saved: 279 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 4 Mins: 56 Seconds: 56

Hi Glo, Nicks last stand!!!!! a final attempt to get you to fail? Just look at those quit stats! 1234 cigarettes not inhaled! You are a star and the feelings will recede......maybe something has triggered the physcological craves? But on 61 days......you know that you can do it! Brent

Aw glo I know what you mean but remember you quit for yourself not your specialist, if he's too much of a curmudgeon to give you a big pat on the back well... who cares... he's not your mother or your therapist. I wanna send you a(((((((((BIG HUG))))))))) and let you know you are absolutely fabulous and have done something incredible for yourself. Stay the course!! HI GLO, it is strange that after such a long time old nic still can make us very uncomfortable. If you can't seem to distract your mind while watching TV perhaps it's time to go to the computer and read some posts on SSC.....then maybe you can go back to tv later. Keep your guard up because every now and then these craves will strike and we have to be ready to fight them off. Keep up the good work. distract, distract, distract.....don't let yourself just sit there and "think" about smoking! You can't make it go away while you are "thinking" about it. While watching tv, get up and move during the commercials.....plan distractions for while you watch....the sweets are good....an icey glass of water or tea? with a straw to play and fiddle with? change the place where you sit...espcially if it was where you used to sit and smoke.....lie in the floor....do leg lifts while you watch.....or tummy crunches. You will find what will work.....and this spell will pass. Most of us go through a period at about this time where we question our decision to quit.....we are "letting it go" so to speak. check out your stats and then plan a few rewards for yourself....you are doing Great!! katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1468 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 58,753 Amount Saved: $8074 Life Gained: Days: 191 Hrs: 14 Mins: 7 Seconds: 3
