Well done Katy and welcome to Seabug22! God I wish I'd stopped at 24, I am so jealous of you (I'm a senile, decrepid, old and knackered 48!.............but I insist on acting my shoe size and not my years.......which is why I have just bought new Atomic SX9's and am heading for the Alps for Easter). You absolutely go for it! Hi Seabug As a former military wife I can relate to what you are going through. Mine has now retired from the Army, but we were always on the move and sometimes we too had the crazy neighbors. You must work hard at keeping your quit. If you truly want this, it will happen. You've got to want it more than you do the cig. The smokes will not make your life any better. Trust me on this. What they will do eventually is damage your health and you'll end up like me.I smoked for 35 yrs. and was up to 2 packs a day. I have now suffered a minor stroke and have heart disease, all related to smoking. Don't do to you what I did to me. Keep your quit. You are worth it. vicki just 1 puff away from 2 packs a day My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 86 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,453 Amount Saved: $602 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 17 Mins: 49 Seconds: 50

Hi seabug22, Welcome to the SSC. Glad you decided to quit smoking while so young! That's great. Don't base your quit on where you're stationed, your neighbors, your daughter, etc. You need to quit for you. Don't let those other things influence your quit. Make sure you go through the quit program tools, read and post as much as you can. The support here is great! seabug22 1/11/2006 12:13 AM Posts: 1 Joined: 1/10/2006 251067 Hi Everyone! I'm a seabee wife DESPERATLY trying to quit smoking and DEPERATLY needing some support in doing it.I'm 24, and we are stationed in mississippi. Military, and my 16 month old daughter aren't making it too easy, but I can deal with them,Psychotic friend next door ,That's making it ALOT tougher. So I decided to find support instead of trying to continue on my own. My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60 Amount Saved: $8.25 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 4 Mins: 51 Seconds: 56 Dragged from the midst of a three page thread....I thought you would be seen better as a new member with your own thread :) Congratulations on your decision to quit! Katy you had an answer from this member kleokatra 1/11/2006 12:27 AM Posts: 20 Joined: 1/6/2006 251070 seabug First, congratulations on your quit! I hope you find the support here that I have since I started my journey. Just remember, when you feel the urge (i work with kids, all...day...long, I understand what it can be like), try and breathe, try and clear your head, eat celery, go for a walk, post here, anything, just keep strong, and we'll be here for you. Sea, Welcome to our support community and see that there is plenty of support to go around. Take the time to prepare and really put your all into this quit. Our online support group can make the transition an easier one. Post often and let us know how you are doing. Josie _______________________ The SSC Support Team.
