Rob47, Give yourself and your body a little bit more time. Keep up the great attitude and keep distracting yourself. Make sure to give yourself little rewards throughout these rough days. These rewards will make you happy which should diminish your cravings a little bit. Keep persevering, Danielle ___________________________________ The SSC Support Team

Do whatever you have to, just don't smoke!!! Hang in! Thanks, Shevie for a chuckle anyway; and everyone else for the kudos. I personally want to strangle the originator of the 5 minute crap. Things are not any better today; but they're not any worse either, except that it is now about 4 days of this. Dizzy/spaced out....week one all over. Went to church, walked, did treadmill, lotsa deep breaths, gardened, slept, ate...did it all. But, I haven't smoked. Went to the store to get eggs and milk and didn't even look at the cigs. I'm going nuts, but at least I've got some sense. It's not that I want to go back to smoking....I'm just a mess emotionally and physically and it makes no sense...112 days off smokes and 61 off nicotine...I know.....what do I expect after a 2ppd 30 year addiction??? I guess it does make sense. Tell that to me nervous system. My friends all "think it should be over by now"...no patience with me for talking about it. I suppose I can't blame them. I think it should be over with by now! Oh well, another sad junky story and I'm the protagonist du jour. My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 113 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,550 Amount Saved: $1017 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 16 Mins: 32 Seconds: 38

Oh man...I'm sorry, but it is just too much sometime. You're right, Pam...the (ONLY) difference is that throwing away 112 days just doesn't factor in. I know I don't want the ashtray taste in my mouth or the presense of smoke in my house, but (as stupid as this sounds) my lungs feel like they are "aching" for a puff. OK, I'm losing it. Time to go to sleep! My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 112 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,517 Amount Saved: $1008 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 13 Mins: 22 Seconds: 1

I just finished a 3 day pretty much constant crave...worse than the first stinking week. What the heck is this all about??? :quest:  I don't know what all this sweet talk about 5 minute craves is about, but this aint it! Guess I'm a freak. Man this pisses me off. 112 days and :| This is really something...all I can think about is taking a nice long drag. I'm sorry...I know this isn't exactly encouraging talk( oh hell- typing), but I'm going nuts..feel like breaking something. Good thing I live alone. Why did I ever start this 30 years ago????? :quest: I need a break....maybe tomorrow will be better. :( My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 112 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,517 Amount Saved: $1008 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 13 Mins: 16 Seconds: 32

Rob47, I hope by now you are in bed fast asleep. The last two days have been very rough on me. Some of the hardest craves I've had for a long time. But I'm still here and I know that you will be also. If it helps, I have been very emotional, and it seems as though when I get emotional that makes the cravings worse. Yes, I have done the deep breathing and I'm sure you have too. I went out to dinner, took a walk, and the cravings are not as bad as they were earlier. Rob, we both know that this will pass, but when I look at my days I wonder when. I don't post to often about my cravings, why, because I find if I talk about the cravings they get worse. One thing for sure we know that the cravings and withdrawls are not going to kill us, but the cigarettes will. Believe me you are not alone. I was reading Butterflyswimmer's post, look at her days 225. The longer we stay with this journey the stronger we get and know how to deal with this addiction. We will always be an addict. We both know the answer, you have to want to quit, more that you want to smoke. We both have to be strong and be determined to stay on this journey. Oh boy, does it get bumpy sometimes. You know Rob, I bet that every addict in the whole world has made the statement that you made, I know that I have. Why did I ever start this 30 years ago????? Rob I think we all need to invest in a punching bag. And I'm also glad that I live alone..I would pity the poor soul that would have to put up with me. Hang tough Rob, and hang on tight.... Tough. Yes. You are a fighter and I don't believe you'll smoke and it right pisses me off that these craves happen for so long at such a p#$%^% poor time. Grit your teeth. Swing the cat around the living room. Go to sleep. Dig in the garden. Paint a room. I am saying all of this cause I found that if I got busy doing just about anything physical my mind would move away from the thought, the crave. I am also saying I can totally relate and all I can say is stick it through. Today was not as bad as the last few days and I guess it really does get better and as time goes by we can trust ourselves a little tiny bit more to go and do and carry on life even though we have this weird and incrediably loud stuff happening inside. Stay strong Rob I need someone to fall back on.
