I smoked a pack and a half or more for 19 years...When I quit in Feb. I used the 21 mg patch for 1 week...I do think it helped "take the edge off" to a certain extent, but the more I read, the more I decided I had no interest in detoxing twice...Once from the "other toxins" and once from the nicotine...So I decided on day 8 to do a test...I left day 7's patch on an extra 6-8 hours...then I removed the patch and showered and left it off...I decided if I freaked out I could put another one on...I didn't...I even lived with a smoker at the time...I would say I slept a little more the next couple days than usual (but that might have been from the lack of crazy dreams brought on by the patch!) but that's about it...I actually started to get my head screwed on straight after I quit the patch (I was really zoned and out of it while I was on it)...This is just my experience however...everyone is different due to their body chemistry and level of mental addiction I think...The worst part of my whole quit quite honestly was trying to figure out what to do with my hands! (I sat on them alot! LOL)
