I screwed up and had 2 cigs one right after the other. I am so upset right now due to a fight with my mother who treats me like a child I don't care if I smoke.

Hi VASmurfie. There are always going to be emotions in our lives. Happy, sad, angry, etc. You can't let emotion, or anything else for that matter, break a quit. These things are always going to be there. You've got to find another way to deal with them. Quitting is a choice. You choose to quit, or you choose to smoke. No matter what happens, the choice is yours. You can't blame smoking on anger or your mother or a co-worker or a boss. Those are things the junkie is using to justify getting another fix. That's it and that's all. Get your coping mechanisms in place. Use all the tools on this site. Good luck. This is going to sound harsh, but believe me, I know junkie thinking from experience. You're mad and somehow those two cigarettes will show your mother that you are an adult and can do what you want to. Don't deny it -- I've been there. The good news is that you came here and posted, which means you really DO care if you smoke. So I suggest you stop focusing on your mother and focus on what is best for you. Is it best for you that you continue this addiction? Or is it best for you that you take control of it and thereby take control of other aspects of your life? Good luck, VASmurfie!
